Desantis Chips Up With Aces

Niveau 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

In what appeared to be a three-way three-bet pot with a flop of 73A, the action checked to Marc Desantis on the button, who bet 2,000 chips into a pot of 9,100. The player in the big blind called before the cutoff folded.

Desantis then placed 4,000 more chips in the middle on the 6 turn and received another check-call before the J river completed the board.

The big blind promptly led out for 12,000 chips, which Desantis quickly called. The big blind tabled AJ for two pair, but it was no good against the AA of Desantis, who won the pot with top set.

Meanwhile, Jim Collopy could be seen taking his seat at another table.

Alati Gets Value From Murthy

Niveau 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Neel Murthy raised to 800 and Richard Alati in the big blind called with the words "since it is you".

They checked the 1093 flop and Alati then bet the 7 turn for 1,600 "since it is me". Murthy stuck around and they had some chatter back and forth on the 5 river after Alati had bet another 2,800. Murthy eventually called and mucked after he was shown J10 for top pair.

Pair Over Pair for Melius

Niveau 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Darrold Pare opened 700 in early position and David Melius called in the small blind as did Jan-Peter Jachtmann in the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of 843 and Melius check-called a bet of 1,500 from Pare, while Jachtmann check-folded.

No more bets went in the middle on the A turn or the 6 river. Pare rolled over 77 but it was no good as Melius tabled 99.

The player in middle position continued for 7,500 on the Q river. Murphy spent some time in the tank before announcing a raise to 23,500.

His opponent needed some thinking time of his own before eventually folding and surrendering the pot.

Engel Makes Tough Call to Bust Opponent

Niveau 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Ari Engel
Ari Engel

The player in the cutoff raised to 800 and Ari Engel three-bet to 4,000 from the big blind. The cutoff made the call.

The flop came 8J10, Engel continued for 3,200 and the cutoff called, bringing the 10 turn. Engel slowed down with a check and the cutoff bet 5,900. Engel called.

On the 8 river, Engel checked again, and the cutoff moved all in. Engel asked for a count and the dealer confirmed a bet of 31,400.

Engel, who had about 34,000 behind, was clearly faced with a tough decision and went into the tank.

"I was not expecting to be in this spot," said Engel before eventually making the call and tabling Q8 for a full house. The cutoff turned over QJ for two pair, and was eliminated from the tournament.

Sliter Shows Aces

Niveau 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

A player under the gun limped in for 300, and it started a chain reaction of raises.

A player in middle position raised to 1,500, resulting in action folding to Frederick Sliter on the button. Sliter peeked at his cards and immediately three-bet to 5,000, an amount that forced out the two blinds and the player who limped under the gun.

The player who originally raised paused a few moments before making the call.

The dealer fanned J86 on the flop, and the player in middle position checked. Sliter reached into his chip stack to pull out chips, and then bet 7,000, which resulted in a fold.

As the pot was pushed his way, Sliter tabled AA.
