Berkey Rivers a Set Against Brenes

Niveau 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Matt Berkey
Matt Berkey

There were 4,000 chips in the pot on a flop of 29J when Humberto Brenes bet 4,000, and Matt Berkey was the only player to call.

Both checked the 3 turn to see the 5 fall on the river. Berkey bet 8,500, and Brenes thought for a moment before he called.

Berkey tabled 55 for a rivered set, and Brenes flashed a jack to the table then continued to hold onto his cards in disbelief at the fact he had been rivered. Eventually, Brenes mucked but kept staring at his opponent while the pot was pushed in Berkey's direction.

DeSantis Scores a Knockout

Niveau 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Gary Tomes got his chips into the middle on the Q1029 turn and tabled his KQ for top pair and a gutshot. He was drawing to a chop only as Marc DeSantis had turned the nut straight with the KJ. The river was a blank and that sent the chips over to DeSantis.

Garcia Getting Short

Niveau 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

James Kohl opened 1,200 under the gun and both Chris Grigorian in the small blind and Cord Garcia in the big blind made the call.

The dealer spread a flop of Q83, and the action checked to Kohl as tossed a bet of 3,200 into the middle. Both Grigorian and Garcia made the call.

When the 3 fell on the turn, Grigorian checked and Garcia fired 7,500. Kohl called, but Grigorian mucked his hand.

The dealer dropped the Q on the river and both players tapped the table. Kohl quickly tabled KK and Garcia tossed his cards face down toward the dealer.

No Goodbye Yet for Melert

Niveau 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Shane Melert three-bet jammed the last 4,600 and the initial raiser called with the 109. Melert was ahead with the AJ and the K52 flop took away some outs for his opponent.

On the 9 turn, Melert fell behind but he got there with the 3 river.

Melert already knocked the table in defeat and was ready to leave, when Shachar Haran asked "what are you doing bro?"

Melert glanced back at the board and gritted "I thought I had diamonds".

Espen Jorstad
Espen Jorstad

Picking up the action on the flop, Espen Jorstad on the button was involved in a hand with a player in early position as well as a player in the big blind.

With the board reading 2KJ action checked to Jorstad. He bet 2,200, getting a call from the big blind and a fold from the early position player.

The 9 turn saw the big blind check again. Jorstad, undeterred by the earlier call, pushed 6,600 into the middle. His opponent thought for quite some time before making the call.

The big blind checked one more time after the K river completed the board. Jorstad did not immediately check back but after tanking did tap the table to take down the pot holding KQ.
