Jonathan Bowers check-called a bet of 5,500 on the KJ966 river while in the small blind and his table neighbor Stefan Bittger on the button revealed the AA to win the pot.

One hand later, Bowers three-bet to 2,000 and the initial raiser called. On the J44 flop, Bowers bet 1,500 when checked to and received a call as the same procedure repeated on the 2 turn for 5,000. Both then checked the J river and Bowers won the pot with AA versus 55.

Smith Delivers an Early Elimination With Aces

A player from early position, who had already lost the bulk of his stack, shoved for around 4,000 chips, and Shawn Smith called from the next seat.

Shawn Smith: AA

There was some hope for the early position on the 382 flop, but neither the 6 turn nor 2 river could keep him alive which meant he was sent for an early shower during Level 1.

Lamanna Nearly Exits Room After Daring Bluff

Pierpaolo Lamanna sat on the button when he bet 8,200 on a turn of 27QQ. His opponent was in early position and check-called.

The 3 river saw his opponent check again before Lamanna fired all in for 35,000.

"Quads are good, I fold," stated his opponent as she tabled KxKx. Lamanna showed 54 for five-high, packed his bag, stood up, and started to walk away.

Only after he was notified by the table that his opponent had in fact folded, he returned with a big smile on his face, ready to continue his Main Event.

Kornuth Gets Paid

Niveau 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Heads-up on a board of 3989, Chance Kornuth bet 7,000 from the big blind and his opponent in the cutoff called.

The J completed the board and Kornuth sized up for a bet of 15,300, sending his opponent deep into the tank.

After several minutes of contemplation, the cutoff stuck in a call and Kornuth announced, "Full house," as he tabled 33.

His opponent couldn't beat it and mucked — sending the large pot Kornuth's way.

Sylvia Chips Up

Jesse Sylvia raised to 400 from middle position and was called by the player in the small blind.

The flop of 1066 was checked by the small blind. Sylvia bet 300 and his opponent called.

The action was checked by the small blind again on the 9 turn. Sylvia put out a much bigger bet of 2,100 and got a quick fold from his opponent.

Yi Takes from Geilich

Joon Yi on the button and Ludovic Geilich both put 1,500 in the middle and the dealer fanned a flop of 973, and Geilich check-called a bet of 1,500 from Yi.

The 2 turn was checked through and the 2 paired the board on the river. Geilich fired 1,200 into the pot and Yi snap-called. Geilich tabled 76 for sevens and deuces but was quickly shown the bad news as Yi took down the pot with 98.

Wilder Wins with Boat Over Boat

Action picked up on the river in a hand between J.W. Wilder in the cutoff and the player in middle position.

With about 9,000 in the pot and the board reading 8969K, middle position led out with a bet of 6,000 and Wilder raised to 17,000.

Middle position flicked in the call and tabled 88 for a full house, eights full of nines. Wilder turned over KK for a full house, kings full nines, and the pot was pushed his way.

Mangiafico Applies Pressure to Becker

Alex Mangiafico opened the hijack to 400 and then called when Jeremy Becker three-bet the small blind to 1,700.

On the monotone Q83 flop, Becker led for 1,300 and Mangiafico called.

The turn brought the the 5. Becker check-called a bet of 5,400 from Mangiafico.

The 2 peeled off on the river. Becker checked again, and Mangiafico cut out a bet of 21,000, and Becker snap-folded.
