Sabbaghian continued for 3,800 on a connected 9♥J♠3♠ flop and Gspoyan made the call.

The turn 7♦ went check-check before the river 10♣ hit the felt bringing in more straight draws. Gspoyan put out a bet of 8,100 but Sabbaghian snap-folded and was left as the table short stack.

The 2021 Main Event second-place finisher George Holmes started the day with a shorter stack and he was involved in a three-way hand with two other shorter stacks as they all saw the flop of Q♣2♦J♣.

Holmes led for 3,700 from the big blind. Laurent Cessy folded, leaving himself less than ten big blinds and Christine Ramello also folded to give Holmes a modest pot as he looks to spin it up on Day 2.
