2024 World Series of Poker
Christoph Vogelsang and Damian Elias were heads-up blind-versus-blind on a flop of Q♠8♣3♥.
Elias checked from the small blind and Vogelsang bet 31,000. Elias then check-raised to 135,000 and Vogelsang went deep into the tank. The clock was eventually called and Vogelsang called with about five seconds left to act.
The 4♦ fell on the turn and Elias quickly announced he was all in, which was enough to put Vogelsang all in for his last 125,000.
Vogelsang again tanked long enough for the clock to be called. Vogelsang committed the rest of his chips with one second left to act.
Christoph Vogelsang: 8♠3♠
Damian Elias: Q♥8♦
The river bricked out and Vogelsang wished his tablemates good luck as he exited the tournament area.
Paulius Jucys opened the action with a raise to 12,000 from early position. Michael Soyza three-bet to 31,000 from the button before Jucys moved all in for 140,000. Soyza made the call.
Paulius Jucys: Q♥Q♣
Michael Soyza: A♦K♥
Flipping in the most classic scenario for his tournament life, Jucys fell short after the dealer put out 5♠5♥7♣A♣A♠ and he was eliminated.
A board of 9♦2♦10♠7♣5♣ was showing and Mike Vanier had fired 107,000 on the river into a player on the button. It took some thought but eventually the button dropped in the call, but was shown some bad news.
Vanier tabled 5♥5♠ for a rivered set, and the button mucked.
The board read 9♣4♦K♦9♥2♦. Jimmy D'Ambrosio had jammed all in from the hijack for his remaining 40,000 into a pot of about 65,000.
Cody Daniels was in the small blind and was fully talking out the hand while deciding whether to call or not. Eventually he got a coin from D'Ambrosio to flip to determine the action.
"Ok this side call and this side call" Daniels said, "Seems like a loaded coin" answered D'Ambrosio. Daniels flipped it and slammed it down "Call!" he confirmed.
"Two pair" said D'Ambrosio as he tabled the 9♦9♠ for quads.
"Oh man, well if I had to lose it, I'm glad it was to you Jimmy" said Daniels as he lost a portion of his stack and D'Ambrosio stayed alive.
Picking up the action on a turn of A♠4♠Q♣5♣, Loc Nguyen checked from the big blind to Alexey Badulin in early position. Badulen then bet 36,000 chips and Nguyen called.
The 4♣ river completed the board and saw Badulin size down to 17,000 chips. Nguyen quickly called, but could not beat the A♦K♥ Badulin tabled and mucked his cards.
The pace of play has slowed considerably as money bubble considerations have come into view.
In a recent hand, Nicholas Howard opened to 14,000 from early position and Matt Stout three-bet to 56,000 from middle position. It was eventually folded back around to Howard, who flicked his hand into the muck.
Stout tossed A♣A♠ face up in front of Howard before collecting the pot.
The pot stood at approximately 50,000 with two players looking at a board of 10♦Q♣6♥10♠.
Nazar Buhaiov, in the small blind, bet out for 15,000 and Michael Gathy, in the big blind, made the call.
The 9♦ river slowed down Buhaiov. Gathy took the lead for a sizable bet of 125,000 and Buhaiov snap-folded.
