Galper Spikes an Ace to Bust Ivey

Niveau 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Phil Ivey's run in the Main Event just came to an end at the hands of Zakhar Galper, and the table filled in the details.

According to a player at the table, Galper raised before Ivey jammed for 400,000 with two jacks. Galper called with AxQx and the flop came Kx9x9x. The A fell on the turn to give Galper the lead with two pair, and Ivey couldn't hit his two-outer on the river to stay alive as the 11-time bracelet winner was sent to the rail.

Wintersberger Picks Off Cervantes; Lin Raises Out Howard

Niveau 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Jean Lhuillier raised to 60,000 in the cutoff and Rudy Cervantes called on the button. David Wintersberger then three-bet to 300,000 in the big blind and Lhuillier folded. Cervantes, though, moved all in for 810,000 and Wintersberger snap-called.

Rudy Cervantes: 99 All in
David Wintersberger: 1010

Cervantes was dominated by Wintersberger's better pocket pair and found no help on the K3685 board as he was sent to the rail.

At the same time at another table, action folded to Ren Lin who raised to 100,000 in the small blind. Nicholas Howard then three-bet to 275,000.

Lin reraised to 600,000 and Howard quickly folded.

"Show the bluff," a tablemate said.

"$200 cash," Lin replied as, with no money forthcoming, he mucked his cards facedown.

"No cameras, no bluff. Aces. That's the last time you'll three-bet me," Lin told Howard as he took the pot.

Ponakovs Snaps Off Weng

Niveau 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Bin Weng
Bin Weng

Bin Weng raised to 60,000 in the hijack before Aleksejs Ponakovs three-bet to 200,000 in the cutoff.

Weng asked the dealer how much Ponakovs' raise was for and the dealer went to toss him the all-in chip. "I said how much is it," Weng said to a round of laughs from the table.

The dealer confirmed Ponakovs' raise before Weng moved all in for real this time, shoving his last 700,000 into the middle. Ponakovs snap-called.

Bin Weng: A7 All in
Aleksejs Ponakovs: AK

Weng found himself dominated as the A65 flop gave both players top pair. The rest of the board came 6Q and Ponakovs' king-kicker played to send Weng to the rail.

Niveau 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Action folded around to the blinds, where Jesse Lonis called from the small blind and Hon Cheong Lee checked his option in the big blind.

Lee called a 35,000 bet from Lonis on the 10K2 flop and then both players checked on the 6 turn.

The J completed the board and Lonis sized up for a 115,000 bet. Lee quickly let his hand go and Lonis padded his stack.

Bin Weng and Toni Zengovski were heads-up on a board of 8610J with a large pot already in the middle.

Adomkevicius Climbs to Six Million

Niveau 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Ryan Hoenig opened to 50,000 from middle position and then called after Aneris Adomkevicius three-bet to 185,000 in late position.

Hoenig checked following the 68A flop. Adomkevicius continued for 100,000 only to see Hoenig respond with a raise to 280,000. After some thought, Adomkevicius flatted.

Action checked through the 8 turn to the 9 river at which point Hoenig checked once more. Adomkevicius, unwilling to go to a cheap showdown, bet 375,000. That was enough to force a fold from Hoenig as Adomkevicius chipped up to hit the six million mark.
