Wigan Tank-Calls With a Set
Niveau 30
: Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Jesse Wigan opened to 300,000 and Frank Lagodich defended from the big blind to see a flop of 9♣8♦6♠.
Both players then checked and went straight to the turn 7♠. Lagodich checked, Wigan bet 250,000, and Lagodich check-raised to 650,000. Wigan thought about it for a few moments but eventually made the call and the two went to the river K♦.
Lagodich then led for 925,000 and Wigan went deep into the tank. After several minutes, he finally tossed out a chip to make the call, which caused a grimace from Lagodich as he tabled 7♦3♦ for just a pair of sevens. Wigan then proudly flipped over 9♥9♠ for a flopped set of nines to take down the substantial pot.
