Duong Doubles Up Through Szumowski
Niveau 40
: Blinds 1,000,000/2,000,000, 2,000,000 ante
Ha Duong min-raised from middle position and Robert Szumowski on the button was the only caller.
The flop came 5♦8♥K♦, Duong checked and Szumowski bet 5,000,000. Duong raised all in for 16,500,000 total. Szumowski took a moment and then threw in the calling chip.
Ha Duong: A♠8♠
Robert Szumowski: A♦3♦
Duong was ahead with middle pair, but Szumowski had many outs with a flush draw. However, Duong was able to dodge all of them on the 7♠ turn and 7♣ river and his two pair was good for a big double-up.
Szumowski lost a bit over a third of his chips, but remained in good spirits, commenting that his play was a gamble but one that ‘was fun’.
