Before the hand started, Thrower asked Dehkharghani how many players this tournament got last year, to which Dehkharghani responded, "100 exactly."

Thrower completed, and Dehkharghani called.

On fourth street, Dehkharghani bet, and Thrower called.

On fifth street, Thrower was first to act and bet, and Dehkharghani called.

On sixth street, the action was back on Dehkharghani first, who bet and was called.

Dehkharghani bet blind on seventh, and Thrower thought for a bit and checked his cards several times before he folded.

With registration opened through Level 8, it remains to be seen if this year's field will eclipse last year's total.

Ohel thought for some time then tossed in a call, but he couldn't beat Zamani's {9-}{8-}{3-} for a nine-eight.

Phil Hellmuth, who won this event two years ago, limped in with a {9-}, Vornicu completed, Negreanu raised, Hellmuth folded, Vornicu re-raised, and Negreanu called.

Negreanu bet on fourth street, and Vornicu called.

On fifth street, Negreanu bet, Vornicu raised, and Negreanu ended up all in.

Vornicu was drawing dead, and Negreanu made a wheel in the end and doubled up.

Russell Clayton completed with the {4-}, and action folded to Daniel Negreanu, who had a {q-} and was to the right of the bring-in ({k-Spades}).

"You know what?" he said. "I'm feeling lucky, so I'm going to defend the queen. These other two cards are a lot better than a queen. I'm tired of folding."

Right away, Negreanu caught another {q-} for an open-pair, and he just laughed and folded to a bet from Clayton, who appears to be in contention for the chip lead.

Wattel bet when Negreanu picked up his ugly pair of queens.

"Now I have to hope you have eights and fives and don't get there," Negreanu said. "I'm gonna let you have it."

He folded, leaving himself with 13,000.
