Kerl Survives Before Break

Mike Wattel bet into three opponents, one of whom had checked out of the big blind. Everyone called and drew one. Everyone checked and drew once again on the final round. Dean Kerl bet out with a wide grin on his face and got calls from Wattel and Andrew Kelsall.

"Eighty-six perfect," he said, tabling his hand.

Wattel mucked {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}, and Kelsall had what looked like an eight-seven.

At the conclusion of the following hand, players went on break for 15 minutes.

Timothy Batow raised on the button, and Jon Turner called from the small blind. Shaun Deeb three-bet from the big blind, and Batow and Turner both called.

Turner drew two, Deeb drew one, and Batow drew two.

Turner checked, Deeb bet, and Batow and Turner called.

Each player drew one.

Turner checked. Deeb bet, and Batow and Turner called again.

Turner drew one, Deeb stood pat, and Batow drew one.

All three players checked, and Deeb won the hand with {8-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{3-} against the nine-seven and nine-six that Batow and Turner showed.

Frank Athey Eliminated in 26th Place ($3,011)

Frank Athey made an {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}, and Matt Szymaszek drew one on the final draw with Athey at risk.

Szymaszek showed {8-}{6-}{3-}{2-} and peeled a four to give him {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for the eight-six perfect. Athey was eliminated in 26th place.

Clayton Doubles Through Wattel

Niveau 14 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Mike Wattel raised in the small blind, and Russell Clayton made it three bets in the big. Wattel called and took three, while Clayton drew two. Wattel bet out, Clayton raised, and Wattel put him all in for about 6,000 total.

Both of the last two rounds went one card for Wattel and two for Clayton, and Wattel turned over {7-}{6-}{5-}{2-}. Clayton had {10-}{4-}{3-}, so he was in rough shape. Wattel rolled over an ace, though, and Clayton had {5-}{2-} to make a ten for the win.

Turner Eliminates Frazin

Timothy Frazin got his last 7,500 in against Jon Turner, after losing a big pot to Turner in which the online poker legend made a number three. Frazin took one and Turner two, and they repeated those draws on the second pull. Frazin was pat on the end, and Turner took two once again.

Frazin rolled over a jack-eight, and Turner had {5-}{4-}{2-}. He turned over a {10-} and an {8-} to make a winning ten-low.

Lower Eliminated

Niveau 14 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Asher Lower had just 300 chips left and got them in before the first draw. Brian Brubaker took two, Timothy Batow took three, and Lower took one. Brubaker bet, and Batow called. Brubaker took two and each of his opponents one, and Brubaker and Batow checked. On the last draw, everyone took a card. Brubaker made {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}, and Lower couldn't beat it.

Jeremy Heartberg Eliminated, Russell Clayton Doubles Up

Jeremy Heartberg was all in predraw after a Russell Clayton raise. Kyle Miaso called the raise, as well.

Miaso drew two, Clayton drew one, and Heartberg drew three.

Both players with chips remaining checked.

Miaso stood pat, Clayton drew one, and Heartberg drew three.

Miaso bet, and Clayton went all in for his remaining 6,400. Miaso called.

Miaso stood pat, Clayton drew one, and Heartberg drew three. Clayton won the hand with {8-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-}, eliminating Heartberg.

Johansson Pushing for the Lead

Heading to the final draw, a player under the gun bet, Mikhail Zlotnik raised, and Oscar Johansson cold-called. Everyone was pat but Johansson, who took a card. They checked to him, and he bet. Only Zlotnik called. Johansson turned over {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and took the huge pot to surpass the 150,000-chip mark.

Bjorin Eliminated

Chris Bjorin got his last 4,000 in before the first draw and was at risk against both blinds. Yuval Bronshtein and Mark Roland each took three, while Bjorin drew one. Two checks later, Bronshtein took three, Roland two, and Bjorin again one. On the last draw, Bronshtein took two and Roland one.

Bjorin looked at his card, chuckled in exasperation, and asked for a final card.

"Slowly but surely, we're catching up," Roland said with a laugh.

Bronshtein checked and folded to a final bet, and Roland said he had eight-six, fanning {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}.

Bjorin flashed what looked like a nine-seven, and the Swedish legend took his leave.

Johns Takes This Round

Ian Johns and Russell Clayton just clashed again, this time with the former on the button and the latter in the small blind. Each player took a card on the final draw, and Clayton checked and called a bet from Johns.

"Nine?" Johns asked.

"Nine's good."

Johns fanned {9-}{8-}{6-}{5-}{2-} and took the pot.
