Malacarria Cracks Aces to Survive

Niveau 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Peter Lockwood was in middle position and raised to 20,000. Richard Malacaria was on the button and moved all in for 19,000. Jon Whitters called in the big blind.

The flop was {q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Lockwood moved all in after Whitters checked getting a fold from him.

Malacaria tabled {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Whitters showed {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}.

The turn was the {6-Spades} and Malacaria started calling out asking for an ace or an eight. Wouldn't you know it, the river was the {8-Hearts} and Malacaria cracked aces with trip eights to give himself some much needed chips to fight with.
