James Moore On the Road to Repeat

Niveau 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
James Moore
James Moore

James Moore is the defending champion of the Super Seniors Event and is on the road to defending his title this time around. Moore came into the day with a shorter stack of around 20,000 but has spun it up to over 200,000 now.

Moore recently got involved in a pot with Jonathan Hildner and there was around 60,000 in the middle before the flop. The dealer fanned the flop of {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{7-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and Moore led out for 20,000. Hildner called and the {8-Hearts} fell on the river. Both players checked again and Moore tabled {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} which was good enough to beat Hildner's {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}.

On the Road to Recovery

Niveau 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Judy Rhodes was down to her last 3,200 in chips in the small blind. She found a triple-up right before we arrived to the table to see the following hand:

Judy Rhodes was on the button and moved all in for 12,800. William Payne was in the small blind and called.

Rhodes tabled {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Payne showed {q-Spades}{10-Spades}.

The board ran out {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {j-Clubs} and Rhodes made a full house to get back into the game and pulling her stack up just short of 30,000.

Rhodes had a very good friend of hers, Mike Parizon, on the rail who arrived just prior to her back-to-back all-ins and as she was raking in the pot she said, "Don't you dare go anywhere," as he continued to hug the rail giving her a giant smile.

Quads are Good

Niveau 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Dan Lacourse and Charles Champlin got all the chips in the middle preflop with Champlin tabling {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} and Lacourse showing {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. Champlin was at risk as Lacourse had him covered and the flop came down {2-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}, keeping Lacourse firmly in control and Champlin needing a combination of a queen or runner-runner outs.

The turn was the {q-Clubs} and Champlin improved to a set of queens. The river was the {q-Diamonds} and quads would take it. Champlin now breathes new life into his stack as he tries to maneuver back into a good chip position.

Big Slick Earns Stuhldreher a Big Pot

Niveau 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

The under-the-gun player raised to 9,000 and Terry Stuhldreher moved all in for just over 105,000. The action folded around to his opponent who thought for a couple minutes and eventually made the call for his tournament life with around 68,000 chips.

Stuhldreher was in a dominating position with {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} against his opponent who had {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}. Stuhldreher hit a king right on the flop of {k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs} which left his opponent drawing extremely thin. The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and the {10-Clubs} completed the board, sending the pot to Stuhldreher.

Gary Schwartz Counterfeits His Opponent

Niveau 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

With around 22,000 in the pot and the board reading {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades}, Gary Schwartz led out from middle position for 10,000. His opponent was directly to his left and pushed all in for 47,000. Schwartz called and tabled {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} but was behind the {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} of his opponent.

It didn't take long for Schwartz to retake the lead when the {9-Spades} hit the turn, counterfeiting his opponent's flopped two pairs. The river was the {3-Spades} and Schwartz raked in the pot while his opponent hit the rail.
