Le professionnel Brian Yoon a remporté son 3e bracelet World Series of Poker et un premier prix de 1,094,349$ en ajoutant l' Event #47 MONSTER STACK à 1500$ l'entrée à son palmarès. Déjà vainqueur d'un 5000$ WSOP et du Little One For One Drop face à 4756 entrants, Yoon a cette fois battu un field de 6717 joueurs et pris la plus grosse partie d'un prizepool de 9 millions !
Le Biélorusse Ihar Soika finit runner-up pour 675 995$ après avoir éliminé les 5 premiers sortants de la finale. Yoon a terminé le travail, éliminant ses 4 derniers concurrents. A 27 ans, le Californien Yoon a désormais amassé plus de 4 millions de dollars de gains en carrière, c'est sa 5e victoire sur le circuit pro.
"Mon style de jeu est parfait pour ce genre de tournoi (avec un gros field, ndlr)", a indiqué le champion qui avait pris un break poker de 9 mois après les WSOP 2016. Se qualifiant comme un "mec plutôt chiant", Yoon a indiqué qu'il ne se voyait pas forcément reprendre le jeu à plein temps après la 48e édition des Championnats du monde, un festival où il a déjà atteint 5 fois l'argent.
Stanley Lee complète le podium pour son plus gros gain en carrière. Cet amateur compte désormais 4 deep-runs sur des tournois avec des premiers prix à 1 million de dollars. Il a aussi terminé 24e, 9e et 39e du Millionnaire Maker 2015, 2016 et 2017 ! A noter enfin l'accession en finale du recordman des titres WSOP Circuit Maurice Hawkins (6e pour son plus gros cash en carrière) et de Will Failla (9e pour 97 223$).
