Welcome to Event #48: $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo Championship

2016 Champion George Danzer
2016 Champion George Danzer

Today marks the start of what is expected to be one of the most star-studded fields at this year's World Series of Poker, the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo Championship.

That is if last year's final table is to go by! In 2016, George Danzer took down the title and $338,646 in prize money to achieve his fourth WSOP gold bracelet.

Such was the level of skill within the field, that eight of the final 10 players held prior WSOP titles. Danzer saw off the likes of David Benyamine, Justin Bonomo, David Grey, Eli Elezra, Scott Clements, Randy Ohel, and Todd Brunson to secure his fourth title.

"It was the craziest final table I’ve been to, that’s for sure,” Danzer said at the time.

Today, players will start with 50,000 in chips and will play 10 levels. Late registration will be open for eight levels (about 12 a.m.) with 15-minute breaks every two levels.
