Cunningham Still Climbing

Niveau 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Allen Cunningham opened for 6,000 in middle position, and an opponent in the small blind three-bet to 19,500. Cunningham called, and they saw a {j-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop, with both checking. The small blind bet 11,600 on the {5-Hearts}, and Cunningham called. The five-time bracelet winner called another barrel of 27,500 on the {2-Diamonds} river, and his {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} trumped the {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} shown down by the small blind.

Peter Jetten Turns a Winner

Niveau 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

On a board reading {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{k-Spades}, with about 25,000 in the pot, the player in the big blind bet 8,100, and Peter Jetten called from middle position. Robert Georato was on the button and thought for about a minute before raising to 18,500. The big blind tank-called, and Jetten called fairly quickly.

The river was the {6-Spades}. The big blind checked, as did Jetten. Georato thought for a brief moment and checked back.

"Ten" said the big blind, flashing just the {10-Hearts}. Jetten showed {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for a straight, and the big blind mucked. Georato showed {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} for top two pair and mucked his hand, too.

Jetten raked in the pot, putting his stack at 310,000.

Matthew Moss the First to Cross the Million-Chip Mark

Niveau 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Matthew Moss
Matthew Moss

A player in early position raised, Matthew Moss three-bet to 13,200 from middle position, and the player in the big blind four-bet shoved for about 95,000. The initial raiser folded, and Moss mulled it over for a few moments before he called with {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}, leading his opponent's {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}.

The board came down {J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs}, giving Moss jacks full of sixes to eliminate his opponent.

Immediately following that hand, Moss' table broke into the Amazon Room where he got tangled in a pot before he could unbag his chips.

Moss opened to 5,200 from early position, the player on the button three-bet to 15,000, and Moss called.

They checked to the turn of a {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} board. Moss checked to his opponent, who bet 18,000. Moss check-raised to 73,000, and his opponent tanked for about two minutes and folded {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} face-up.

Moss showed the {10-Hearts} as he collected the pot and is first player above the million-chip mark.

Alex Conklin's Quest to be the Youngest Main Event Winner

Niveau 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Alex Conklin
Alex Conklin

Alex Conklin entered the Main Event on Day 1b, which was his 21st birthday.

He ended the day with a healthy 83,500 in chips and battled it out on Day 2ab. At the end of that day, he carried forward a stack worth 156,800 chips and has more than doubled that here on Day 3.

Conklin is currently the youngest player in the Main Event and could take the title of youngest Main Event champion from Joe Cada after his win in 2009. Peter Eastgate held the title in 2008, but that was short-lived.

Conklin sits with 410,000 in just the second level of the day.
