Neurauter Sends Foxen to the Rail

Niveau 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

Hannes Neurauter raised from middle position and Alex Foxen moved all in for his remaining 12,000 on the button. Neurauter made the call and had Foxen in a dominated position.

Neurauter: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Foxen: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The flop came {j-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Foxen would need to hit a queen to keep his hopes alive on Day 1A. The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and the river brought the {k-Diamonds}. Neurauter's two pair eliminated Foxen, who will most likely be back tomorrow for Day 1B.

Law and Aidonopoulos Rising

Niveau 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Theodoros Aidonopoulos
Theodoros Aidonopoulos

Chun Ho Law just scooped a big pot when flopping top two pair with {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and got involved in the next hand right away. Jeff Cormier raised to 4,500 and Law three-bet to 12,000 from one seat over, which Cormier called after brief consideration. On the {k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, Cormier checked and Law bet 13,500. Cormier was having none of it and check-raised to 30,000, which sent Law into the think tank. The Brit double-checked his stack and elected to fold.

One table over, Theodoros Aidonopoulos opened to 4,100 and Zdenko Slavik called from the small blind. The flop fell {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Slavik checked, Aidonopoulos continued for 4,400 and was called. After the {8-Hearts} turn, Slavik checked once more and eventually folded to a second barrel worth 9,200.

Savinelli Flushes Oliveira

Niveau 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

With only 11,000 in the middle and the board reading {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, Carlo Savinelli checked out of the big blind and Pedro Oliveira bet 5,000 on the button. Savinelli check-raised all in for 33,700 and Oliveira started some table chat before verifying the all in amount again. "I guess I still have outs," the Portuguese said and called half a minute later.

Carlo Savinelli: {9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Pedro Oliveira: {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

Savinelli had a diamond flush draw and gutshot straight draw while Oliveira had third pair and a club-flush draw. The {4-Diamonds} on the river improved Savinelli to a flush to send the pot his way.

Delahunty Slips Up, Hefter Doubles, Cormier Takes the Lead

Niveau 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Ryan Hefter
Ryan Hefter

Darren Delahunty raised to 4,600 from middle position and was called by Ryan Hughes on the button, Ryan Hefter in the small blind, and Jeff Cormier in the big blind.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and the action was checked to Delahunty who announced all-in. Hughes mucked his cards and Hefter snap-called. "Oops!" Delahunty said aloud as Cormier mucked his cards. Delahunty turned over {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} but Hefter tabled a set with {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}.

The turn was the {3-Clubs} and Delahunty picked up a flush draw on the turn again. This time, the {4-Spades} on the river wasn't as helpful and Hefter scored a massive double up through Delahunty.

Just two hands later, Delahunty came over to the media desk to explain that he busted after holding the chip lead at one point. According to the story, Delahunty flopped two pair and Cormier flopped a queen-high straight. All of the money went in the middle on the flop and Delahunty was unable to catch up.

Roller Coaster for Lykov

Niveau 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Maxim Lykov
Maxim Lykov

After the elimination of Chun Ho Law by Maxim Lykov, the field was reduced to the last two tables and 18 players only.

Lykov put the new chips to use immediately after arriving at his new table and opened to 5,200. Micky Blasi three-bet to 14,000 from two seats over in the cutoff and Lykov asked his opponent how much he started with. "Around 90,000," Blasi replied and the Russian then moved all in. Blasi gave it some consideration and called off.

Micky Blasi: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Maxim Lykov: {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

Blasi shook his head on the {K-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop as Lykov took the lead. The {7-Clubs} turn was a blank, but the miracle {J-Clubs} on the river came to the rescue for the Italian that now resides in Malta. Blasi doubled for 93,100 and Lykov's stack was cut in more than half.

Pedro Oliveira
Pedro Oliveira

Zdenko Slavik raised to 5,500 from middle position and Pedro Oliveira piled his remaining 45,000 into the pot from the small blind. Ismael Bojang looked down at his cards and made the call. Slavik laid his hand down and the remaining two hands were shown.

Bojang: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Oliveira: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Oliveira hit the rail in the last level of the night. Bojang climbed over 200,000 for the first time today.

Lykov Left With Dust

Niveau 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Maxim Lykov limped and Hannes Neurauter raised to 7,200 from one seat over, which Lykov called. On the {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop, Lykov checked and called a bet of 6,000 before the {J-Diamonds} appeared on the turn. Lykov checked again and Neurauter bet 14,000 to force a fold.

Over on the other table, Carlo Savinelli raised to 6,000 on the cutoff and Mike Leah shoved for 83,000 from the button. Savinelli's attempt at getting information from table chat brought no reply from Leah and the clock was called on the Italian after almost four minutes. With five seconds left, Savinelli folded the {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts} face up and Leah flashed {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} with the words "let's see a flop."

Ryan Hefter raised to 5,600 from middle position and Maxim Lykov called from the small blind. The flop came {j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and the two players got all of their chips in the middle with Lykov being the player at risk for around 35,000.

Niveau 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

The tournament officials have paused the clock and announced that there will be seven hands remaining. With just 16 players remaining, hand-for-hand play will commence. If one more player is eliminated, the action will be halted for the night and the remaining players will bag up to move onto Day 2.
