Lykov Unstoppable For Now

Niveau 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Erik Cajelais
Erik Cajelais

Joining the action on the {Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades} turn with some 15,000 in the middle, Maxim Lykov sent a tower of T-5,000 chips to the middle of the table out of the big blind. His sole remaining opponent was Erik Cajelais in under the gun and the French-Canadian counted his remaining chips, which were some 28,000, before calling it off.

Erik Cajelais: {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Maxim Lykov: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}

Cajelais needed a nine, ten or jack to avoid elimination, but the {2-Hearts} on the river was as blank as it could get. Lykov's massive tower of chips grew even further and the Russian is the run-away chip leader at the moment.

Lykov and Chauriye Build Stacks

Niveau 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Maxim Lykov is using his big stack to put pressure on opponents and further build his stack. One of these hands involved Fahredin Mustafov, who just won the World Series of Poker Circuit €5,300 High Roller here at the King's Casino a few days ago. On the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop, Mustafov checked and called a bet of 8,500 by Lykov before checking the {2-Diamonds} turn. Lykov on the button bet 12,000 and forced a fold.

One table over, there weren't many chips in the pot until the {K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} river. Ricardo Chauriye bet 8,000 and Ivan Baric raised to 22,000. Chauriye shoved for just 33,000 and Baric folded.

MacDonnell Flips for His Stack

Niveau 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Marc MacDonnell opened to 2,200 from early position and Zdenko Slavik three-bet to 7,200 directly to his left. With the action back on MacDonnell, he four-bet shoved all-in for around 40,000. Slavik took a moment to make his decision and eventually made the call.

Slavik: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
MacDonnell: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

The flop came {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Slavik took the lead with two pair. The turn was the {k-Clubs} and MacDonnell was drawing dead to the {7-Spades} on the river.

In the next hand, Martin Kabrhel was sitting on a short stack of just 10,000 chips and was seen getting up from his seat. Kabrhel will surely be back tomorrow to fire again on Day 1B.

James Akenhead
James Akenhead

While Kenny Hallaert lost the remainder of his short stack, Ivan Baric busted in unfortunate fashion to Ismael Bojang. Their table broke right after while James Akenhead was all in and at risk for his last 13,400. Micky Blasi looked up the Brit for the following showdown.

James Akenhead: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Micky Blasi: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

The board of {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} provided the necessary help for Akenhead in order to remain in contention on Day 1a.

Niveau 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Maxim Lykov raised to 3,000 from under the gun and picked up two callers on Dominik Matejka and Oleksandr Shcherbak in the big blind. The flop fell {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Shcherbak checked, Lykov took some time before continuing for 3,500 and Matejka was the only caller.

After the {5-Spades} turn, Lykov made it 7,800 to go and picked up a call, then jammed the {7-Diamonds} river for effectively 22,000. Matejka gave it some consideration and folded.

There was a raise to 2,800 from early position and Mike Leah called from the button along with Alex Foxen in the big blind. The flop came {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and Foxen checked to the preflop raiser who continued for 3,600. Leah called and Foxen got out of the way.

The {j-Diamonds} landed on the turn and both players checked to the {10-Hearts} on the river. The action was checked to Leah who again who bet 7,000. His opponent went into the tank for a couple minutes and eventually folded.

"I folded an ace," he said to Leah.

"You folded an ace?!" Leah responded. He flashed his opponent the {a-Diamonds} with a grin on his face as he raked in the pot.

Konrad Abela: {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Ryan Hefter: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Abela was eliminated. Only a mere minute later, it was also game over for Fahredin Mustafov. He three-bet shoved for his remaining 18,000 and initial raiser Romain Follet looked him up.

Fahredin Mustafov: {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Romain Follet: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}

There was no help on the board {10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts} and the next player was sent to the rail, reducing the field to the last 23 hopefuls.

Liridon Dzelili
Liridon Dzelili

With around 25,000 in the pot and the board reading {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}, Jeff Cormier checked from early position to Liridon Dzelili in the cutoff. Dzelili fired out a bet of 12,500 and Cormier made the call.

The {4-Spades} hit the river and Cormier checked again. Dzelili shipped all-in for 28,000 and Cormier took a couple minutes before making the call. Stefanelli Doubles Through Aidonopoulos

Niveau 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Hand 1

On the {Q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{A-Spades} turn, Theodoros Aidonopoulos bet 2,100 and Zdenko Slavik in the small blind called. Bruno Stefanelli check-raised to 10,500 from the big blind and Aidonopoulos was the only caller. The {7-Clubs} fell on the river and Stefanelli moved all in, Aidonopoulos called and was about to muck his cards when Stefanelli showed {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for a set. Since it was an all in showdown, the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} of the Greek were revealed. On top of that, Aidonopoulos had some chips left as Stefanelli doubled for 13,600.

Hand 2

Aidonopoulos shoved for 2,300 and Pedro Oliveira called from one seat over. Carlo Savinelli reraised to 12,500 and Stefanelli shoved from the small blind. This forced out Oliveira and Savinelli and Aidonopoulos had the chance to more than quadruple up.

Theodoros Aidonopoulos: {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Bruno Stefanelli: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

The board came {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Oliveira headed into the break with a "I had the best hand."
