Not an Easy Table for Hellmuth

Niveau 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth took a seat on quite an interesting table that includes Alex Foxen, Dominik Desset, big stack Dominik Arnold, Georgios Zisimopoulos and Ivan Baric. Hellmuth took a hit early on and quickly lost half his stack while Desset just chipped up without showdown.

Baric raised to 2,000 and picked up three callers in Desset, Arnold, and Foxen in the big blind. The flop of {J-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs} was checked and Foxen bet the {2-Diamonds} turn for 4,500. Only Desset called and the {5-Diamonds} appeared on the river. Foxen bet 8,600 and Desset moved all in for more than 32,000 to force a quick fold.

"Pocket jacks?" Baric asked his table neighbour, but Desset just smiled while stacking up the chips.

Kabrhel Takes a Hit

Niveau 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Martin Kabrhel had a short stack at risk for 10,200 with {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts} versus {J-Spades}{10-Spades} and the board ran out {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. The dealer announced a seat open before players at the table chimed in and pointed out the straight. "You are my new best friend," the short stack said.

Two tables over, Brandon Cantu was less fortunate and left the tournament area.

Kabrhel Doing Kabrhel Things

Niveau 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

Martin Kabrhel raised to 1,600 from the cutoff and was called by the big blind. The flop came {j-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts} and the action was checked to Kabrhel who continued for 1,500. The big blind check-raised to 3,700 and Kabrhel made the call.

The turn was the {q-Diamonds} and the big blind led out for 4,100. Kabrhel called again and the {a-Hearts} landed on the river. The big blind checked this time and Kabrhel moved all-in for 18,000. His opponent went into the tank for a couple of minutes before folding. The pot was pushed to Kabrhel but he kept his cards close by.

"You're supposed to show the winning hand?" he asked rhetorically. He then proceeded to table {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} as half of the table looked with raised eyebrows.

Mach Doubles Before Dinner

Niveau 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Jan Mach
Jan Mach

Jan Mach got all of his 17,400 chips in the middle against one of his opponents and was at risk holding {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. His opponent turned over {j-}{j-} and it was a race situation.

The {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop didn't look so promising but the {q-Spades} on the turn helped Mach out. The {4-Hearts} landed on the river and Mach earned a full double up prior to the dinner break.

Baer Doubles Castelluccio

Niveau 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

On the three-way flop of {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, Donovan Baer checked from middle position and Yehuda Cohen bet 1,500 on the button. Sergio Castelluccio check-raised all in for 11,925 from the big blind and Baer reshoved for less than double of that. Cohen took a long time to make up his mind and the clock was called on him, he eventually mucked {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds} face up.

Sergio Castelluccio: {K-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Donovan Baer: {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The {2-Hearts} turn and {Q-Diamonds} river changed nothing whatsoever and Castelluccio more than doubled.
