Theobald and Habegger Eliminated

Niveau 14 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Fernando Habegger
Fernando Habegger

Paul Theobald was the first casualty of the day and Fernando Habegger followed when he was sent to the rail by Mehrzad Moadeli.

A loud scream from Moadeli indicated that he had the check mark already as the cards were tabled with {q-Spades}{10-Spades} for Habegger and {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for Moadeli. The {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop had given Moadeli top set while Habegger had an open-ender, but the {3-Spades} on the turn improved Moadeli to a full house to make the {q-Clubs} river a formality.

Moadeli Jams Into Kabrhel

Niveau 14 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

On a completed board of {10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, Mehrzad Moadeli moved all in for 319,000 against Martin Kabrhel and the biggest table talkers clashed with words flowing back and forth.

"Hippo says it is a bluff, but I don't believe him, he is an old fucker," Kabrhel said. Half a minute passed and Kabrhel eventually folded, Moadeli offered to show one card and Kabrhel revealed the {a-Clubs}.

"Show the other one like a boss," Kabrhel demanded and Moadeli shot back with an "I am an amateur player."

Schulze Scoops First Big Pot of the Day

Niveau 14 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Felix Schulze
Felix Schulze

Felix Schulze got value in three streets against Martin Kristeller to go over one million chips.

The hand started with Kristeller opening from late position and Schulze defending his big blind. The flop came {k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs} and as per Schulze, he check-raised Kristeller's continuation bet with Kristeller following along.

The {4-Clubs} came on the turn and Schulze bet 120,000, followed by another call from Kristeller.

The {8-Spades} was the last community card and this time Schulze fired a 342,000 bet, which Kristeller eventually called after a couple of minutes in the tank. Schulze opened {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} with the stone cold nuts and Kristeller mucked, giving a big part of his stack to his opponent.

Zhou Takes the First One from Durnegger

Niveau 14 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

It was only the first hand at the table, but it turned out to be a long one played between Markus Durnegger and Quan Zhou. Picking up the action on the turn with the board reading {j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and around 150,000 in the middle, Durnegger checked from the small blind. Zhou counted out a bet of 60,000 and Durnegger called.

The {8-Diamonds} landed on the river and Durnegger checked again. Zhou went into the tank for about three minutes before he finally slid out a bet of 160,000. Durnegger thought for a minute himself but decided to send his cards to the muck.
