Mustafov Enters Danger Zone

Fahredin Mustafov raised from the hijack and Ben Heath called from the big blind, creating a pot of 200,000 chips. Mustafov then continued for 40,000 on the 3♦7♦A♣ flop after a check from Heath. Heath made the call and the Q♣ turn graced the felt.

Heath checked again and Mustafov upped the ante to 105,000 chips. Heath took a moment but eventually called. The 3♠ river was then checked by both players in quick succession, leading to Heath showing A♠6♣ for top pair and the winning hand.

Mustafov lost another pot was left with merely ten big blinds at the tail end of Day 1.

Angelou-Konstas Double Leaves Mulder Short

With some 195,000 in the middle to the Q♦6♣4♥A♠ turn, Ioannis Angelou-Konstas check-called a bet of 125,000 by Teun Mulder. He then checked the K♦ river and Mulder bet 526,000. That covered the 360,000 Angelou-Konstas had behind and the Greek then called all-in without using a time bank extension.

Mulder revealed the 9♥8♥ for a bluff gone wrong, while Angelou-Konstas doubled with the A♣10♥ for a pair of aces.

Adams Eliminated by Benitez

Francisco Benitez raised to 50,000 and then faced the three-bet shove by Timothy Adams for around 320,000. No exact count was asked upon as Benitez came along a few seconds later.

Adams was in prime shape to get back into contention but that all changed on the A♦10♦8♠ flop, as Benitez hit a set of eights. No queen or running cards followed on the 6♣ turn and K♣ river as Adams departed in the penultimate level of the night.

Mustafov Tries to Pull a Move

Daniel Dvoress had raised preflop from middle position and received calls from Ben Heath in the cutoff and Fahredin Mustafov in the big blind. The 3♦10♣4♥ then fanned out and Mustafov checked to Dvoress, who made a continuation-bet of 60,000.

Heath called, but Mustafov had other plans and put in a raise to 200,000. Dvoress quickly folded, but Heath required one time bank extension before committing to a call.

The 6♦ turn then arrived and Mustafov halted his aggression with a check. Heath responded with an all-in bet, covering Mustafov's 445,000 remaining chips.

Mustafov, however, instantly let his cards go, granting the pot to Heath.

Kim and Maue Earn Some Chips Back

Leonard Maue bet the 7♦5♣4♠5♥ turn for 100,000 out of the big blind and then repeated the same bet sizing on the 6♦ river. Adrian Mateos reluctantly called the final bet and mucked when he was shown the 8♦7♠ for an eight-high straight.

At the same time, Gab Yong Kim pushed all-in on the Q♦10♦4♦9♦2♦ river with 225,000 in the middle. The shove was for 146,000 and Chris Brewer was somewhat perplexed before he then shrugged and called.

Kim tabled the 5♠5♦ for a flush and Brewer briefly exposed his A♣9♥ to play the board.

Lin Leads on his "Lady Gaga"

Gab Yong Kim raised preflop as first to act and Ren Lin defended his big blind once the action folded to him. Both players then checked on the 9♠J♥A♦ flop before the Q♣ turn appeared.

Lin checked again and called the subsequent 35,000 bet that Kim put out. The Q♥ river then paired the board.

"Ah, Lady Gaga!", exclaimed Lin gleefully, after which he made an out-of-flow bet of 175,000. This move put Kim into a state of confusion, causing him to spend one time bank extension before tossing in a call.

"Lady Gaga, my friend," Lin told his opponent, as he showed his Q♠8♠ for rivered trips. Kim could not beat that hand as he threw his cards into the muck, leaving him with roughly ten big blinds to play with.

Mulder Adds Some Chips Without Showdown

Zhou Grabs Chip Lead

Tamas Adamszki raised his button to 40,000 and Fahredin Mustafov flat-called from the small blind. Quan Zhou then squeezed in a three-bet to 150,000 from the big blind, which only Mustafov called.

The flop of 8♦3♣4♠ saw Adamszki check to Zhou, who continued for 145,000 chips. Mustafov called before the A♠ turn was checked by both players.

Mustafov then checked the 3♦ river as well, after which Zhou took a second look at his cards before checking back. Mustafov could only show six-high with 6♣5♣, which led Zhou to table the winner with his 9♦8♣ for a pair of eights.

By winning this pot, Zhou edged out a small chip lead over his nearest rival on the leaderboard.
