Zizka's Kings Cannot Hold Against Blom

Niveau 19 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Zdenek Zizka vs Jacob Amsellem
Zdenek Zizka vs Jacob Amsellem

The first casualty after the dinner break was Dutchman David Boyaciyan and moments later, another all-in showdown unfolded.

Zdenek Zizka raised to 40,000 in the hijack and Viktor Blom three-bet to 125,000 in the cutoff. The four-bet shove by Zizka followed and Blom inquired about the stack size, which he guessed at 395,000.

That was confirmed by the dealer and Blom then called for slightly more than half of his remaining stack.

Zdenek Zizka: KK
Viktor Blom: AQ

The A54 flop instantly improved Blom and there was no escaping for Zizka on the 5 turn or 3 river.

Binar Spikes the River to Double; Sturm Takes Out Liu

Niveau 18 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Pavel Binar
Pavel Binar

Pavel Binar moved all in for 165,000 on the button and Michele Tocci called in the big blind.

Pavel Binar: Q9
Michele Tocci: K10

The flop came 542 and Tocci took an even bigger lead with a flush draw. The 3 turn was no help to Binar and he was a card away from elimination, but he hit the Q on the river as Tocci flung his arms in the air in frustration before handing over the pot.

At the same time at another table, Wing Po Liu was already all in with a short stack as Leon Sturm and Serkan Kuru went to the river on a board of J10J7J, with 85,000 in the main pot and 125,000 in the side pot.

Sturm then bet another 85,000 from the big blind and Kuru gave it some thought before mucking on the button. Sturm then turned over K10 for a full house and Po's cards hit the muck as the recent bracelet winner was busted shortly before dinner break.

Mazza-Boussemart Takes a Pot Without Showdown

Niveau 18 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Jacob Amsellem raised to 34,000 first to act and earned calls from Zdenek Zizka on the button, Giuseppe Mazza-Boussemart also called out of the big blind as well. The A105 flop was checked to Amsellem and he continued for 50,000. Mazza-Boussemart called out of turn, Zizka then called and the call of Mazza-Boussemart stood.

The 6 turn was checked to Zizka who bet 60,000. Mazza-Boussemart check-raised to 162,000 and Amsellem was the only caller before the 4 came on the river. Mazza-Boussemart bet this time and Amsellem gave up the pot.

End of the Road for Gumz

Niveau 18 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Marius Gicovanu made it 33,000 to go in the cutoff and Fabian Gumz pushed all-in for 219,000 on the button. The initial raiser asked for a count and then made the call, which triggered the following coin flip.

Fabian Gumz: 44
Marius Gicovanu: KQ

Gumz remained ahead on the A96 flop and A turn, but Gicovanu picked up counterfeit outs. Instead, the Q fell on the river to give the Romanian superior two pair and send Gumz to the payout desk a few minutes prior to the dinner break.

Binar Misclicks

Niveau 18 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Pavel Binar opened the action with an unusually large raise size of 60,000 from under the gun. Max Neugebauer then made it 190,000 to go as next to act, and the entire table folded, including Binar.

"I wanted to make it 35,000," Binar explained, "but I had an ace!"
