Ermanno Di Nicola moved all in for 1,625,000 on the button and Elia Salerno called in the big blind.
Ermanno Di Nicola: A♥J♦
Elia Salerno: 3♣3♦
Di Nicola's hopes appeared bleak after the 3♠Q♦8♦ flop gave Salerno a set. Di Nicola got up from his seat and was about to leave the tournament area as the dealer flipped over the 10♣ turn.
Di Nicola realized he picked up a straight draw and stayed behind to watch as the K♣ fell on the river to give him the straight. Salerno let out a loud groan and was still shaking his head several minutes later as Di Nicola miraculously stayed alive.
Vadzim Lipauka raised to 2,400,000 in early position, leaving himself 400,000 back, and Alain Saka moved all in from the button. Lipauka tanked for a minute before sticking in his last chips.
Vadzim Lipauka: A♥Q♦
Alain Saka: A♠J♠
Lipauka had Saka dominated, but the 4♦J♣8♥ flop gave Saka the lead with a pair of jacks. The board ran out 9♥6♣ and Lipauka was eliminated in 15th place.
Elia Salerno limped in from the small blind and Alessandro Predaroli checked his option.
The flop came 2♠7♥3♠ and Predaroli bet 400,000. Salerno called and checked over to Predaroli again on the 4♥ turn.
Predaroli then bet another 600,000 and Salerno came back with an all-in shove for 3,400,000. Predaroli paused for a moment before calling.
Salerno had 6♥2♥ for a pair to go along with straight and flush draws, while Predaroli showed K♣7♦ for top pair. The river came the K♠ and Predaroli improved to two pair to send Salerno to the rail in 14th place.
Xhavit Berisha opened to 700,000 from under the gun. Stefan Fabian moved all in for 5,000,000 from the small blind. Samuel Stranak was forced all in from the big blind.
Samuel Stranak: Q♦5♠
Stefan Fabian: J♦J♣
Xhavit Berisha: K♦K♣
Berisha was the favorite to seal the double bust out, and that's exactly what happened as his kings remained best following the 7♣8♦2♦4♦A♠ runout.
Cristian David moved all in for 2,025,000 in the cutoff and Alessandro Predaroli called in the small blind. Julien Loire then reshoved in the big blind and Predaroli folded.
Cristian David: 8♦8♥
Julien Loire: A♥A♠
"Unbelievable," David said in disgust upon seeing Loire's aces. The flop came A♣6♣4♥ and Loire made top set to leave David drawing incredibly thin to avoid elimination.
The board ran out Q♥2♦ and David was eliminated in 11th place. Predaroli then told Loire he folded ace-ten, indicating Loire had hit the last ace in the deck.
Angelo Marrone moved all in for 2,525,000 in the cutoff and Alessandro Predaroli called on the button. "Aces," Predaroli joked with Loire, but Loire folded this time leaving Predaroli heads-up with Marrone.
Angelo Marrone: 8♣8♦
Alessandro Predaroli: 7♠7♣
Marrone showed a higher pocket pair as the board came A♣K♠J♦Q♣J♣, keeping his eights in front and earning him a double up.
Julien Loire moved all in from the cutoff, having the rest of the table covered, and Juuso Luokkanen called for 4,300,000 on the button.
Juuso Luokkanen: A♠10♣
Julien Loire: 9♣9♦
Luokkanen was flipping for his tournament life but didn't find any help on the 3♣7♥J♠ flop. The turn, though, brought the A♣ and Luokkanen pulled in front with a pair of aces.
The river was the 8♥ and Luokkanen survived to double up.
A few hands later, Luokkanen raised pre-flop, then called when Ermanno Di Nicola moved all in for 4,450,000 on the button.
Ermanno Di Nicola: A♥K♦
Juuso Luokkanen: K♠Q♣
Luokkanen found himself dominated as the board came 7♠9♦2♣3♥4♦, earing Di Nicola the double up.
