The 2023 World Series of Poker Europe here at King's Resort in Rozvadov continues today with Event #6: €5,000 Pot Limit Omaha — a high buy-in event that is sure to attract top talent from across Europe and beyond.

The €5,000 PLO event is relatively new to the WSOPE, having only been added to the schedule in 2021. Maximilian Klostermeier won the inaugural tournament after besting a 184-entry field for €204,010. More recently in 2022, Roman Verenko claimed the gold bracelet after outlasting a 223-entry field and defeating Omar Eljach heads-up for the €247,288 first-place prize.

The tournament is set to begin at 4 p.m. local time. Players will start with 100,000 in chips with blinds beginning at 200/300 with a 300 big blind ante. Levels will last 40 minutes each and play will conclude for the day at the end of Level 14. Fifteen-minute breaks will be held after every three levels, with an extended 30-minute break occurring after Level 6. The tournament features unlimited re-entries; however, late registration will close at the start of Level 12.

Boat on Boat Collision at Table 96

Nino Pansier opened to 800 from the small blind and Seyed Dezfooli defended from the big blind.

The flop came Q♥3♣9♠. Paniser checked, Dezfooli bet 1,500, Pansier check-raised to 5,000 and Dezfooli made the call.

Pansier bet 8,500 on the 3♥ turn and was once again called by Dezfooli.

The river was the 4♥. Pansier bet 29,000 and after about one minute to consider his options, Dezfooli made the call.

Pansier tabled 9♣9♥2♦2♣ for nines full of threes. Dezfooli revealed Q♦3♠ from his hand for threes full of queens before sending his cards into the muck as Pansier collected a sizable early pot.

Paduano Flops a Boat; Eliminates Joentausta

Aku Joentausta and Arturo Paduano were already all in for a massive pot on a board of 4♥4♦10♦3♠. Paduano was in the big blind and had Joesntausta, who was on the button, covered at and risk.

Eljach Triumphs in Multiway Clash

Omar Eljach had raised a previous open to 6,000 from middle position, only for Grzegorz Derkowski to four-bet it to 25,300 from the hijack. Arturo Paduano then five-bet to 83,000 from the button and received calls from both Eljach and Derkowski.

The flop came 8♦7♦3♦. Eljach moved all in for 19,400 and Derkowski reshoved for 25,900. Paduano called with a covering stack to put both players at risk.

Albeck Flushes Astedt Out

Albeck bet enough to put Astedt all in for around 50,000 from the small blind and Astedt called off the rest of his chips from the big blind.

Rough Start for Lin

Alexander Norden opened to 2,000 from the hijack and Ren Lin defended from the big blind.

The flop came A♥7♣5♦ and Lin check-called a 4,900 continuation bet from Norden.

Lin check-called another bet from Norden on the 10♥ turn, this time for 14,700.

On the Q♣ river Lin changed gears, leading out with a bet of 44,100 which sent Norden into the tank.

After approximately three minutes Norden flicked in the call. Lin tabled A♦4♠4♣3♠ for top pair turned into a bluff while Norden showed down A♠K♣10♠7♥ for two pair to take down a sizable pot.

Saliba Scores Double Knockout

Anh Do opened to 3,000 from middle position and Patrick Baranyai called from the button. Vivian Saliba confirmed how much both players had behind before three-betting to 11,600. Do made the call before Baranyai four-bet shoved for 23,900. Saliba reshoved for approximately 76,000 and Do made the call for less to put himself at risk.

Meanwhile at another table, Niklas Astedt was recently sent to the rail for the second time today but will still have the option to reenter should he choose to do so.

Lin Strikes Back

Jose Manuel Planells opened to 3,500 from under the gun and Ren Lin, now on his fourth bullet, called from middle position. Omar Eljach three-bet to 13,800 from the cutoff and Planells made the call. Lin declared pot, Eljach five-bet shoved, Planells got out of the way and Lin called off with a total stack of 107,200 to put himself at risk.

The flop came 10♣6♠5♠ giving Lin both straight and flush outs. The flush came in on the 4♠ turn and after the J♦ river Lin collected a full double up at Eljach's expense.

Urumovic Check-Shoves the River

Goran Urumovic opened to 5,000 from the hijack and was called by Quan Zhou in the cutoff and Juergen Pollack in the big blind.

Pollack checked to Urumovic on the 3♥3♦4♦ flop and he bet 5,000. Only Zhou called.

Urumovic then check-called a 17,500 bet from Zhou on the 6♣ turn and checked a final time when the A♥ completed the board.

Zhou bet a hefty 47,000 and Urumovic sat still for some time before announcing he was all in for around 130,000. Zhou let his hand go after a bit of thought and Urumovic dragged the large pot without showing.
