Get Ready for Short-Handed Action! The €1,650 6-Max is Ready to Begin
The World Series of Poker Europe is in full swing at the beautiful King’s Resort in Rozvadov as Day 1 of Event #7: €1,650 No-Limit Hold’em 6-max is about to begin and is guaranteed for a mammoth €300,000.
It is unlikely that last year’s champion and professional soccer star Max Kruse will be defending his crown. An injury last season allowed the former German international to play in the 2022 WSOPE, but he is currently fit and playing for Paderborn in the Second Bundesliga.
Kruse, who once left his poker winnings in a taxi, navigated a star-studded final table that consisted of Nacho Barbero, Farid Jattin, Orhan Sen, and Leonid Yanovski. The German striker sealed the deal by beating Dorian Melchers to claim his first WSOP gold bracelet and the top prize of €134,152.

Play gets underway at 3 p.m. local time and players will start with a stack of 40,000. There will be 14 levels of 40 minutes with a break after every third level. The first level will begin with a 100 small blind, 100 big blind, and a big blind ante of 100.
Late registration is available until the end of Level 12. As well as the guaranteed prize pool of €300,000, the top four will claim a free seat to the WSOP Europe Main Event.

Flying Start for Mazza-Boussemart

With 9,000 in the middle on the turn with the board showing J♥9♥9♦K♣, Nolan Curatolo bet 2,100 from the cut-off and was called by Giuseppe Mazza-Boussemart in the big blind.
Mazza-Boussemart opted to lead out on the 3♣ river for 7,500 and was called by Curatolo. Mazza-Boussemart tabled J♣J♠ for the flopped full house, while Curatolo tossed his cards into the muck and paid the Frenchman.

Buijs Doubles Leaving Dirlewanger Short

With 18,000 in the middle on the turn with a board of 10♣7♦3♦9♠, Rens Buijs bet 8,500 from the hijack and was met with a shove from Leandro Dirlewanger in the big blind. Bujis called for his tournament life without hesitation for 21,400 chips.

Buijs made a straight on the turn and Dirlewanger was drawing dead. The inconsequential 6♠ completed the board and Bujis enjoyed an early double-up whilst Dirlewanger is left with crumbs.

With 16,000 in the middle on the completed board of J♣7♣6♥8♦K♠, Arvydas Merfeldas in the cutoff made a near pot-sized bet of 15,500.
Vasileios Tsaknis went into the tank and eventually made a sigh-call throwing in a solitary chip. He saw bad news however as the Lithuanian tabled 7♦7♥ for a flopped set which was good enough to take down the pot.

Moments after Vivian Saliba sat down and took a selfie to announce her arrival on Instagram, Khalil Youssafi at her table opened to 500 from under the gun. He was only called by Daniel Koloszar in the big blind.
On a flop of 2♦9♣6♦, both players decided to check, so they moved on to the turn A♦.
This time, Youssafi threw a red chip worth 1,000 in front of him. But Koloszar check-raised to 2,400. Youssafi quickly folded, revealing A♣8♠.
