Speranzoni Takes and Gives
Niveau 34
: Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante
Alberto Speranzoni had been dominating the table for several hands, picking up blinds along the way, before he raised to 500,000 from the early position holding 10♠9♠. Ferdinando Costagliola, sitting in the small blind, responded by shoving all-in with A♣3♠. After some deliberation, Speranzoni made the call.
The 5♠6♣8♣ flop gave Speranzoni plenty of outs, as he needed to improve his hand. However, the 3♣ turn and Q♥ river didn’t change things in his favor, and Costagliola secured a crucial double-up.
