Salimovic's Eights Hold for the Win
Niveau 1
: Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Igor Salimovic kicked off the action from under the gun with a raise to 600, drawing two callers. Gediminas Dirmantas, sitting in the small blind, decided to pump it up with a three-bet to 4,500, and Salimovic was the only one to continue.
The 9♦6♣2♥ flop saw Dirmantas lead out for 2,500, and Salimovic quickly called.
On the 10♣ turn, Dirmantas slowed down with a check, allowing Salimovic to bet 5,500. Dirmantas made the call.
Both players checked the 9♥ river, and Dirmantas showed A♥K♠ for ace-high, but Salimovic revealed 8♣8♠, his pair of eights securing the pot.
