Tomescu's Bold Bet Pays Off
Niveau 5
: Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
The board showed 10♦A♦8♣2♥7♣ with a pot of around 26,800 when Piotr Zapolski checked to George Tomescu. Tomescu responded with an overbet of 65,000, nearly putting Zapolski's entire stack at risk.
After a tense three-minute tank, Zapolski decided to make the call. Tomescu revealed A♥8♠ for two pair, aces and eights. That was enough for Zapolski, who quickly mucked his cards, now left as the short stack at the table with just 8,200.
