Baranek Goes For Thin Value With an Overpair, Encounters Wieckenberg's Straight
Niveau 3
: Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
On a flop of 5♠6♠3♠ with around 3,500 in the middle, Rene Baranek bet 1,500, and Jan Wieckenberg called. A J♥ came on the turn and again Baranek fired a bet, this time with a sizing of 3,000, which Wieckenberg called again.
When the 2♣ dropped on the river, Baranek fired his third bullet into the pot of 6,600, and Wieckenberg snap-called.
Baranek confidently flipped Q♠Q♥, but was disappointed to see the 5♦4♥ of Wieckenberg, who had rivered a straight.
