Meli Trusts His Gut
Niveau 18
: Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
With about 137,000 in the pot and the flop showing 2♦Q♠Q♥, Ivan Sestina checked first to act. Vincent Meli followed suit, and Volodymyr Pashchetnyk seized the opportunity, betting 50,000. Meli was the only one to call.
On the J♠ turn, Meli checked again, and Pashchetnyk bet 125,000. Meli, steady, called.
The river brought the 5♦, and once more, Meli checked. Pashchetnyk applied maximum pressure with a 225,000 bet, putting Meli all-in. Meli took his time, carefully counting his chips before making the call, revealing A♥K♦. Pashchetnyk turned over A♦K♥, and the two split the pot. Meli breathed a sigh of relief, staying in the tournament.
