Mortensen Backs Into a Flush to Survive
Niveau 8
: Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Gergo Nagy bet 8,000 on a flop of 8♥6♥5♦ and Sebastian Mortensen raised to 30,000. Nagy shoved to put Mortensen all-in for 37,000 more and Mortensen called.
Sebastian Mortensen: K♥J♦10♦3♥
Gergo Nagy: A♥10♠7♠4♥
Mortensen had the inferior flush draw so would need a lot of help if he was to remain in the tournament. The 8♦ turn followed by the 9♦ river was just what he needed as he backdoored into a flush to earn the double-up.
