Andrew "Lucky Chewy" Lichtenberger One of the Best Ever

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Andrew Lichtenberger
Andrew Lichtenberger

Andrew Lichtenberger is one of the top poker players in the world, and he reached Day 2 of the Wynn Millions Mystery Bounty on Sunday.

Known as “Lucky Chewy” from his online poker prowess, the long-time poker star has nearly $12 million in live tournament cashes according to the Hendon Mob. He's a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner, having shipped a $3,000 no-limit hold'em event in 2016. In December 2021, he took down a $25,000 high roller at the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic for $432,000.

Lichtenberger is one of the many great players in their mid-30's, which will make it difficult for the voters in about five years to determine who will be the selection each year for the Poker Hall of Fame. The New York native will reach eligibility (age 40) in 2024, and it's going to be tough to keep him off the ballot.

"Lucky Chewy" has been a consistent performer in tournaments and online for many years. Since 2014, he's cracked the $1 million cashes mark in live events five times and is well on his way in 2022. He became a poker pro in 2009 and has never looked back.

He's certainly among the favorites to reach the final table here on Day 2 in the Wynn Millions Mystery Bounty event.

Alfa Felts Two for Big Pot

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Peter Braglia raised to 25,000 from under the gun and Dave Alfa called from the next seat over. Badr Imejjane came along from middle position and Ryan Laplante shoved for 125,000 from the button.

Braglia re-shoved with the remaining players covered and Alfa went into the tank before emerging to call. Imejjane thought a moment before he also tossed in chips. Action was four ways with Braglia putting everyone at risk.

Badr Imejjane: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}
Ryan Laplante: {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Dave Alfa: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Peter Braglia: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Alfa took the pot with a pair of queens. Alfa was all smiles as he scored two bounties and a giant pot through Braglia.

Hung Tran Pulls First $100K Mystery Bounty on Bonus Redraw

Niveau 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Hung Tran busted from the Wynn Mystery Bounty event and then went to draw for a mystery prize he earned for busting a player earlier in the day. He initially drew a $500 card, the minimum bounty, but the card indicated he earned a redraw. In that redraw, he pulled the first of three $100,000 bounties and will go home with a six-figure payday, lessening the disappointment of being eliminated from the tournament.

Thai Vu raised pre-flop and Brittney Stout jammed with the big stack. The rest of the table got out of the way and Vu called.

Thai Vu: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Brittney Stout: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Stout turned a set of tens to secure the big pot.

Despite the knockout, Stout is waiting to make her trip to the bounty desk until her poker pro husband, Matt, arrives.

"According to Matt, I'm not allowed to pull any bounties until he gets here."

Stay tuned for Stout's trip to the drum.

Action was caught on the river when Nadya Magnus, the 2021 GPI Female Player of the Year, was all-in for 197,000 on a board of {3-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

Her opponent, who didn't expose his cards, made the call and she turned over {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} for the winning flush, and is now back up above the stack she began Day 2 with.

Moments earlier, Magnus drew a $5,000 Mystery Bounty.
