Les Turbo Championships of Online Poker 2016 ont débuté le 21 janvier dernier sur PokerStars. 50 tournois sont au programme avec une garantie cumulée de 45 millions pour l'ensemble du festival. A presque la moitié des TCOOP avec 23 events disputés, PokerNews dresse un premier bilan.

Le premier event de la série était attendu avec intérêt par la communauté poker, puisque un énorme overlay risquait d'intervenir avec une garantie de 1,5 millions de dollars. Avec l'incroyable affluence de 53 311 entrants, celui a été inférieur à 200 000$ (et de seulement 70 000$ si l'on prend en compte le fee récolté par l'opérateur). C'est le finalement Brésilien Helio "hneves182" Neves qui s'est imposé, collectant 111 000$ et son premier titre SCOOP à l'occasion.

Si le tournoi d'ouverture a eu pour l'instant à la fois le plus grand nombre d'entrants et le plus gros prizepool, le plus gros gain alloué à la première place est survenu lors de l'event 16, un 700$ NLHE remporté par Patrick "pmahoney22" Mahoney qui s'est adjugé son premier titre dans un "COOP" et 144 712$ incluant 35 225$ en bounties.

Parmi les autres vainqueurs, on retiendra le Team Pro PokerStars George "Jorj95" Lind (en photo) qui remporte son 2e COOP après sa victoire dans le TCOOP-15: $215 NL Hold'em [6-Max, Hyper-Turbo], $300K Gtd pour 72 113,88$ ou encore Stephen "woody1234321" Woodhead qui a lui décroché son 2e TCCOP avec le TCOOP-17: $215 NL Hold'em [Turbo, Optional Re-Entry], $600K Gtd pour un gain de 118 818,68$.

L'event #19, un 215$ NLHE Hyper Turbo, a donné lieu à une lutte fratricide entre deux Britanniques, la victoire revenant finalement à Ben "Fabaz" Farrell qui a remporté 84 490$ après avoir dominé en heads-up son compatriote Oscar "MendaLerenda" Serradell, qui se consolera avec 63 234,46$.

Quelques uns des plus gros events n'ont pas encore débuté, notamment le TCOOP High-Roller et le TCOOP Wrap-Up, chacun avec une garantie d'un million de dollars et bien évidemment le Main Event avec ses 2 millions de dollars garantis.
