Nick Looking Dangerous

Nicholas Wong is starting to look very dangerous as he flexes his muscle with his newly-found chips. Amit Varma opened to 43,000 and Wong defended his big blind to see a flop of {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}.

Wong led out with a sizable bet of 80,000 and Varma made the call as the {7-Diamonds} delivered a double-paired board. Wong immediately announced himself all in for a total of 464,000. It was another big bet but Varma couldn’t call it as he tossed his cards into the muck. Wong flashed {j-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for the bare flush draw as he raked in the pot.

India to India

Folded to Amit Varma in the big blind, he looked towards fellow countrymen Sameer Rattonsey in the big blind and announced he was all in. Rattonsey kind of gave a shrug and made the call.

Rattonsey: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Varma: {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

Rattonsey was looking good to double-up his short stack and when the board ran out {j-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{j-Hearts}, it was good times for Rattonsey as he is now much healthier than earlier. Don't worry about Varma though, it was only a small dent to his giant stack.

Look Out, Wong Has Chips

Nicholas Wong has the most final table experience of the remaining six players — and now he has some chips. After Sameer Rattonsey opened to 47,000, Wong put in, for this final table, a rare three-bet to 136,000. Action passed back to Rattonsey, who tanked for two minutes before declaring all in. Wong snap-called all in for 256,000 total and found himself in a race, his {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades} against Rattonsey's {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. A ten flopped, {10-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, to double Wong up.

Rattonsey's tough day continues as he slides down to about 250,000 and becomes the new short stack.

Varma Chips Up More

Hoang Anh Do and Amit Varma are the two biggest stacks at the table and haven't been staying away from each other during the last level or so.

A recent hand saw Do and Varma take to a {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} flop, where both players would check. The {2-Hearts} on the turn and Do would again check and then call when Varma bet 50,000. On the {4-Diamonds} river, Do immediately bet 120,000 which made Varma give a slight chuckle. Varma went into the tank before eventually making the call.

As soon as Varma tumbled the call into the pot, Do flicked his cards face down into the muck and Varma then did the same as he took down the pot.

Sameer Shoves

Action folded around the table to Sameer Rattonsey in the small blind. He raised to 50,000 but was met with resistance from Alistair Duff in the big blind as he three-bet to 110,000. Rattonsey thought for some time before deciding to make the call.

The flop landed an innocent looking {2-Hearts}{4-Spades}{7-Spades} and Rattonsey instantly declared himself all in for around 300,000. There was no need for an exact count as Duff quickly mucked.

Hoang Picking Up the Do

Sameer Rattonsey started the day 2nd in chips, but it's been mostly downhill for him from there. He lost another 180,000 chips to Hoang Anh Do a few hands ago. Do opened for 40,000 pre-flop, with Sameer calling from the blind. Both players checked a king-high flop, {10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. Sameer tried bets of 55,000 on the {2-Hearts} turn and 85,000 on the {4-Diamonds} river, but Do called both. Sameer shook his head and mucked his hand without ever opening it. Do triumphantly slammed down {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} as he collected the pot.

With that hand, Do clearly becomes the table captain as the chips keep getting raked in his direction.

Takes Two to Tango

Hoang Anh Do and Michael Kanaan continue to spar with each other and you get the feeling that they could explode in a massive pot at any minute.

Kanaan may have got away with a nice bluff in a recent battle of the blinds with Do. It started with Do raising to 45,000 from the small blind. Kanaan called in the big and they saw a {6-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop. Do led for 55,000 before Kanaan raised to 125,000. Do went deep into the tank and appeared set to pull the trigger a couple of times, before eventually making a reluctant fold.

Kanaan thanked him by flashing the {9-Diamonds}.
