Wong Doubling Them Up

Niveau 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

"I always double you up!" said Kenneth Wong after sending some chips to the short stack of his table. In the hand in question, Wong called a small all in from the player on a flop showing {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.

Wong's opponent held {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for a flush draw, while Wong {a-Spades}{k-Spades} for two over cards. The {4-Clubs} on the turn sealed the deal for Wong's opponent as he took down the pot and Wong took a small hit to his stack.

Another Cracks Six Figures

We stopped at the table of 2010 Macau Poker CupChampionship winner Julian Hasse and took note that he’d increased his stack considerably since our last pass of his table. Well, we didn’t have to wait too much longer to see it skyrocket even further.

With a raise to 1,000 from early position, Hasse flat-called and brought in two other callers to see a flop of {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. The preflop raiser tossed out 5,000 before Hasse clicked it back with a min-raise to 10,000. The other three players quickly folded before the raise was called to go heads-up to the {2-Clubs} turn.

Action checked to Hasse to flick out another couple of yellow chips to announce a bet of 10,000. The small bet was quickly called as the {Q-Clubs} completed the board on the river. The preflop aggressor quickly slid his last chips into the middle in one last defiant attempt to win the pot but Hasse beat him there with a call to find his {k-Clubs}{k-Spades} well in front of his opponent’s {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

With that pot, Hasse sends another opponent to the rail to climb up to a very healthy 100,000 chips and sit as only the second player to sit behind six-figures.

Here Comes The Big Leader

Antonio Martins has just eliminated another player to steamroll his way to a commanding chip lead. We arrived to see the aftermath of a 100k pot pushed in his direction.

According to the table, there was a preflop raising war and a five-bet shove from a player holding {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} but Martins held the goods with his {a-}{a-}!

Another ace hit the flop and a king on the river was only salt into the wound, as the shell-shocked player was forced to slowly walk from the table. Meanwhile Martins is now up to 120,000 for easily the biggest stack of the tournament so far.

Hasse Takes Amourette's Chips

When we came to Antoine Amourett's table, there was a board showing {q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds} spread across the felt and Julian Hasse was all in for 17,900 behind Amourette. At this point there was over 15,000 in the middle already and Amourette was deep in thought. Eventually he would decide to let his hand go as Hasse took down the very large pot to sit with a healthy chip stack.
