Mohan Flopping Big Hand

When India's Sangeeth Mohan held {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and the flop fell {6-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, he would be sitting happy with a straight flush draw. However, it would only get better from there.

In the hand in question, Mohan was up against one opponent and both players would check the flop in the raised pot.

On the turn, Mohan's opponent checked and Mohan threw out 2,500. The player called and a {6-Clubs} would be dealt on the river. This time when Mohan's opponent checked, Mohan would casually flick out 5,000 and his opponent would again make the call.

Suffice it to say, the nuts were good enough for Mohan as his opponent's cards went into the muck and he took down the big pot.

Lady On The Up

Earlier in the day, we reported that one of the few ladies in the field, Emi Hibuse, was very short stacked and found herself all in during the first level. She managed to survive that and now she prospers as the chip leader.

Hong Forced Out

Ryan Hong has been very active over on his table, throwing in plenty of three and four-bets. Sometimes this won't work though, with a player getting him to lay down his hand.

It started with an open to 525 from Hong on the button. His opponent was in the small blind and three-bet it up to 1,550. The big blind got out of the way and it was back on Hong who four-bet to 4,025. Hong's opponent then almost instantly made it 9,500. This sent Hong into the tank before he eventually decided to give up on his hand.

It Had To End Eventually

Oliver Speidel's seemingly never ending hot streak has come to an end here on Day 1c of the APPT Cebu Main Event. Speidel was short stacked when he got his stack all-in holding {a-}{k-} against an opponent's {9-}{8-}. Speidel's opponent paired up and no help came for the 2012 Aussie Millions Main Event champ as he now exits the building.

Chan Tweets His Loss

When we came back from the break we noticed that Terrence Chan was sitting behind a considerably smaller stack than he previously had. A quick look on his twitter (@tchanpoker) and we uncovered the story.

"Lame, back to starting stack at first break after losing 32k pot JJ<AK on the last orbit of the level."
