Eights Are Running Hot

Niveau 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Dylan Sendeckyj

With more than 11,000 in the pot and the flop showing {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, Antonio Tavella called a bet of 11,000 and then faced a second barrel worth 16,000 on the {3-Diamonds} turn. Tavella moved all in for another 25,200 on top and his opponent immediately sighed.

Eventually, the all in call followed and Tavella turned over {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}. His opponent was disgusted and gasped "fuck" while revealing {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}. The {J-Diamonds} river bricked and Tavella raked in a big pot.

Dylan Sendeckyj also managed to crack pocket aces, and flopped a set with {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}, then turned a full house on the {J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{J-Spades}{5-Clubs} to secure a vital double up in the final level of the night.

Standing Up Helps Meritan; Hurts May

Niveau 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Luc Meritan was all in and at risk with {j-Hearts}{j-Spades} against the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} of Heidi May. The flop came {6-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Meritan was up on his feet and preparing to head to the exit.

The turn was the {7-Spades} but the river {j-Clubs} saved him as he hit his two-outer and doubled to around 100,000 with an hour left in the level.

Senthil Subramaniam
Senthil Subramaniam

While Senthil Subramaniam was behind preflop, he found the perfect flop with {6-Clubs}{6-Spades} and got his stack in against the {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} of his table neighbor on {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. Both the turn and river blanked and Subramaniam doubled early in the final level of Day 1a.

Niveau 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Both David Gorr and Travis Endersby checked a {6-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} turn and Gorr bet 4,000 on the {q-Spades} river. Endersby snap-called.

Gorr showed {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} but was out-kicked by Endersby's {q-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Strang and Tedeschi Tangle Once More

Niveau 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Paul-Francois Tedeschi and Errolyn Strang are among the bigger stacks on their table and were involved in several heads-up pots throughout the last few hours. They tangled once more with Strang in the small blind and Tedeschi on the button, and Strang check-called a bet of 3,000 on the {8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop. She then bet the {8-Clubs} turn for 5,000 and Tedeschi folded.

David Gorr

Both David Gorr and Mel Judah are in the Australian Poker Hall of Fame, and their faces adorn the walls of the Crown poker room. In fact, Gorr's appears twice following his Aussie Millions Main Event victory.

The pair are not only seated at the same table in this year's Main Event, but they're sat rightnext to one another! Gorr navigated away from a tricky table with Australian bracelet-winner Heidi May and sits with around 62,000.

Judah is up from starting stack with 42,000. The average is around 50,000 in chips with one level remaining in Day 1a.

Chabra Forces Out Honeyman

Niveau 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Dylan Honeyman raised from early position and picked up one caller on the button. Ajay Chabra in the big blind squeezed and Honeyman was the only caller. Chabra proceeded to bet the {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop and the {A-Spades} turn, picking up calls from Honyman and creating a pot of around 50,000.

After the {3-Diamonds} river, Chabra bet 26,750 with one T-25 chip behind, a signature move that was used frequently during the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) in the High Roller events just two weeks ago. Honeyman had fewer chips behind and eventually ended up folding.
