Pim De Goede
Pim De Goede

Welcome back to the 2019 Aussie Millions and Day 3 of the Event #11: AU$10,600 Main Event live from Crown Melbourne in Melbourne, Australia.

A record-setting field of 822 entrants have created a prize pool of AU$8,220,000 that will see the final 88 players earn a min-cash of AU$15,600, while reaching the final table of seven will earn everyone AU$242,000. For whoever manages to join the long list of previous Aussie Millions Champions, they will pocket the AU$1,850,000 first prize and the custom made diamond-encrusted gold bracelet by ANTON Jewellery.

Leading the remaining 168 players into Day 3 is Dutchman Pim De Goede who finished the day with 413,000. De Goede has over $800,000 in lifetime tournament earnings, and collected his first Aussie Millions cash earlier this week in the Event #4: AU$1,150 Pot Limit Omaha event where he finished in 16th for a AU$3,245 payday. De Goede will be hoping that his chip lead will be the springboard to him collecting his biggest result of his career in just a few days time.

Trailing De Goede is Bjorn Ostby (386,300), Ben Lai (378,000), David Yan (363,300), and Shane Moran (346,900). Australian notables Michael Egan, Michael Addamo, Oliver Gill, Matthew Wakeman, Rory Young, Bruno Portaro, Nauv Kashyap, jackie Glazier, Tyron Krost, Billy "The Croc" Argyros, and Andrew Hinrichsen all survived into Day 3. For the International brigade, Michael Soyza, Mike Del Vecchio, Ajay Chaba, Farid Jattin, Jack Salter, Michael Gathy, Richard Ashby, Jesse Sylvia, Bryn Kenney, Martin Finger, Manig Loeser, and Celina Lin will all be looking to take the title overseas like ten of the previous 21 Aussie Millions Champions.

Play will end at approximately 1:30 a.m. (AEDT) with the goals to not only burst the bubble, but hopefully get down to at least 36- players so that play can made six-handed for the remainder of the tournament.

Day 3 of the Event #11: AU$10,600 Main Event will kick off at 12:30 p.m. (AEDT) with the PokerNews Live Reporting Team providing continuous live updates of all the action. Glazier Eliminated by Soyza

Niveau 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Jackie Glazier
Jackie Glazier

There was just over 30,000 already in the pot and the flop showed {j-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}.

Michael Soyza was in middle position and checked his option. Jackie Glazier was in the hijack and bet 13,000. Soyza then raised to 40,000. Glazier thought for a minute and called.

Both players checked the {a-Spades} on the turn before the {4-Spades} completed the board.

Soyza opted to move all in which had Glazier well covered. She almost snap-called with 85,000 behind.

Soyza then flipped over {6-Spades}{5-Spades} for two pair and took down the monster pot after Glazier revealed {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} for top pair.

Ziegler Cannot Hold With Kings

Tobias Ziegler

Plenty of chips were already in the middle until the {8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Spades} turn and Ali Ghezelbash had checked in the cutoff. Tobias Ziegler on the button bet 40,000 and Ghezelbash check-raised to 95,000. Ziegler was out into an uncomfortable spot and carefully counted his own stack, asked for the bet size of Ghezelbash.

After some consideration, he moved all in for some 130,000 and Ghezelbash called instantly.

Tobias Ziegler: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Ali Ghezelbash: {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}

Ziegler was already drawing dead even before the meaningless {4-Diamonds} came on the river and headed out of the tournament area.

Ishida Bet-Folds River After 16-Minute Tank

Niveau 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Yuri Ishida (left)
Yuri Ishida (left)

A small group of players were standing up away from table 46 including Jack Salter and Jim Chahoud.

"You can tell who the patient players are," said Salter. "I really need the toilet."

"Go," said tablemate Orjan Skommo. "I went ten minutes ago."

The reason for the gathering was a hand in progress at their table. According to Chahoud, Wang Yi Long opened pre-flop and Yuri Ishida three-bet from the big blind. Long called and called bets from Ishida on the {q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop and the {8-Clubs} turn.

The river was the {5-Hearts}. Ishida had bet 30,000 and Long had moved all in, putting Ishida to the test.

Ishida's tank was approaching the 15-minute mark.

"I'm not gonna call the clock," Salter said to his tablemates. But Andrian Chin had other ideas. The clock was called and the seconds ticked down with Ishida eventaully folding.

"We've played six hands while they've been tanking," someone from a neighbouring table said.

Julian Stuer

Robert Glasspool opened to 5,500 from the cutoff and Julian Stuer three-bet to 19,700 from the blinds. Glasspool four-bet to 57,000 and Stuer jammed for somewhere in the region of 200,000.

Glasspool had his opponent covered by around 20,000 and tanked before flicking in a chip to call.

Robert Glasspool: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Julian Stuer: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran out {4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{k-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Glasspool sent his opponent to the rail.

Subramaniam Out in Two Hands

Niveau 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Senthil Subramaniam
Senthil Subramaniam

In a three-bet pot to the {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop between Kishore Kumar and Senthil Subramaniam in a battle hijack versus cutoff, Kumar check-raised from 19,000 to 50,000. Subramaniam pushed all in and Kumar snap-called for 149,000.

Kishore Kumar: {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Senthil Subramaniam: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

There was some disbelief on the table when Subramaniam tabled his cards and Kumar had already locked up the double even before the board completed with the meaningless {4-Spades} turn and {9-Hearts} river.

Down to around 40,000 after the hand, Subramaniam pushed from late position and Shane Moran called in the big blind after just looking down on the {A-Hearts} as his first card. He then turned over the {7-Hearts} also while Subramaniam held {K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. The board came {J-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and that was it for Subramaniam.

Mosbock looked in great shape to double up until the board ran out {q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} giving Ostby the winning hand with a rivered straight.

Ostby has risen to take the chip lead during the second level of today's play.

Gathy Eliminated by Lee

Niveau 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Michael Gathy
Michael Gathy

Almost 40,000 had already accumulated in the pot preflop and the board showed {8-Spades}{a-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

Michael Gathy was in middle position and had checked. Gyeong Byeong Lee was in the next seat over and bet out 13,000. Gathy thought for a minute and raised it up to 50,000. Lee took a moment before making the call.

The turn brought the {j-Hearts} and Gathy moved all in for 98,000. Lee quickly called.

Gyeong Byeong Lee: {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Michael Gathy: {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Lee had turned the perfect card improving to a straight and besting Gathy's two pair.

The {4-Hearts} on the river was no help for Gathy resulting in him being eliminated from the tournament.
