Portaro Doubles on the Bubble

Niveau 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

"I had ace jack and ace ten in the first two hands and folded, she is torturing me," Bruno Portaro said while he was under the gun as one of the shortest stacks on the money bubble. He then looked down at his cards and moved all in for 32,000. Ryan Otto asked for a count but folded, while Robert Glasspool, who had won the previous hand against Vojtech Ruzicka, moved all in from the small blind to isolate.

Several players were gathering around the table while all other tables had not yet finished their current hand. Portaro was all smiles and dashed out a few jokes. Billy "The Croc" Argyros started singing "all by myself" while they waited for the showdown.

Bruno Portaro: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Robert Glasspool: {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

The {J-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop was a sweat, but the {J-Spades} turn and {3-Diamonds} river were both blanks to let Portaro double.

Sakellariou Busts Before Dinner

Niveau 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

The stone-cold money bubble has been reached after the elimination of Tolly Sakellariou. A few minutes ago, floor staff decided to go hand-for-hand two off the money as some tables had been stalling and in the final hand before the dinner break, the first all in showdown took place.

Simon Chahine asked for the stack size of Sakellariou, who had lost a big pot earlier with boat under boat, and raised to 11,500 on the button. Sakellariou jammed for 44,500 in the big blind and Chahine asked for a count, then called some 30 seconds later.

Tolly Sakellariou: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Simon Chahine: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The {5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop and the {5-Hearts} turn were no threat yet, but the {10-Clubs} fell on the river and that reduced the field to the last 89 hopefuls.

Nakai Takes It on the Turn

Niveau 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Takahiro Nakai raised to 11,000 first to act and was called two ways by Billy Argyros and Chit Loong Saw in the small blind. Short stack Bruno Portaro shook his head in the big blind and released his cards.

On the {Q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop, Saw checked and Nakai continued for 18,000, which was called only by Argyros. After the {Q-Hearts} turn, a second barrel worth 49,000 by Nakai followed and Argyros folded.

Ward Falls to Wakeman

Niveau 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Bryn Kenney raised to 10,000 from middle position and was called by Matt Wakeman on the button. Martin Ward was in the big blind, and deliberated over his decision for a minute, before choosing to call.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and Ward moved all in for his remaining 19,500. Kenney quickly folded. Wakeman snap-called.

Matt Wakeman: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Martin Ward: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Ward had run his pair of tens into Wakeman's pocket aces.

The {a-Clubs} on the turn gave Ward a gutshot but the {9-Hearts} on the river would not help to send him to the rail in 91st place.
