Robert Glasspool
Robert Glasspool

Robert Glasspool moved all in for 720,000 from the cutoff and Matthew Wakeman called in the small blind.

The players waited for the hand at the other table to complete and the cards were turned over.

Robert Glasspool: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Matthew Wakeman: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

There was no help for Glasspool on the {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and he would miss out at a spot at the final table, finishing in eighth place for AU$180,000.

Bjorn Ostby Eliminated in 9th Place (AU$180,000)

Niveau 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Bjorn Ostby
Bjorn Ostby

After defending his big blind against a raise by Andrew Hinrichsen, Bjorn Ostby ended up paying off a 100,000 bet on the {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} river and mucked when Hinrichsen showed the {A-Clubs}{9-Spades} for aces up.

Two hands later, Ostby raised the button to 110,000 and Hinrichsen three-bet to 410,000, Ostby called. The flop came {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Hinrichsen continued for 350,000, which prompted the shove of Ostby for around 1,800,000. Hinrichsen snap-called and that was a bad sign for Ostby and his rail.

Bjorn Ostby: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Andrew Hinrichsen: {7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

"Nice hand," Ostby sighed and continued to his rail "I was not going to get away from this spot." He found no help on the {10-Clubs} turn and {J-Spades} river to join the rail in 9th place for AU$180,000.

Play will continue with hand-for-hand mode as soon as both tables have been balanced.

David Wang Eliminated in 10th Place (AU$123,000)

Niveau 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
David Wang
David Wang

David Wang jammed first to act for what appeared to be 370,000 and Mike Del Vecchio in the big blind called after brief consideration.

David Wang: {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}
Mike Del Vecchio: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

As soon as he spotted the superior pocket pair on the other side of the table, Wang sighed. The board came {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} and Wang had to settle for 10th place and payday of AU123,000, missing out on a pay jump of almost 60k.

Norihiro Otani Eliminated in 11th Place (AU$123,000)

Niveau 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Norihiro Otani
Norihiro Otani

Left short after doubling up Hamish Crawshaw, which started the latters meteoric climb up the chip counts, Norihiro Otani moved all in for around 600,000 with {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs} from the cutoff. Bjorn Ostby was on the button and rejammed with {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}, forcing out the other players.

There was no help on the {7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop as the turn {q-Spades} sealed the pot for Ostby. The river was the {6-Hearts} but it was too little, too late for Otani who was eliminated in 11th place for AU$123,000.

Greg Heaver Eliminated in 12th Place (AU$123,000)

Niveau 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Greg Heaver
Greg Heaver

Greg Heaver raised to 100,000 and Hamish Crawshaw three-bet to 300,000 from the small blind. With the action back on Heaver he four-bet all in for just over 1,500,000. Crawshaw called.

Greg Heaver: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Hamish Crawshaw: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Since the elimination of Simon Chahine in 15th place, Crawshaw has been the crowd's favourite and his rail has been singing his praises for the last half a level.

However, they were stunned when the flop came {6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs} giving Heaver a set. But they soon found their voices on the {k-Hearts} turn giving Crawshaw top set.

The river was the {2-Clubs} as both players hugged and shook hands, with Heaver heading to the exit in 12th place for AU$123,000.

Otani Doubles Aces Against Kings

Niveau 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Norihiro Otani
Norihiro Otani

In the first major confrontation at the feature table since play was down to two tables, Mike Del Vecchio opened and Norihiro Otani three-bet from the blinds to around 250,000. Del Vecchio moved all in and Otani called for 975,000.

Norihiro Otani: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Mike Del Vecchio: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

There was to be no upset on the {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} run out and Otani doubled to around two million in chips.

Michael Egan Eliminated in 13th Place (AU$82,000)

Niveau 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Michael Egan
Michael Egan

Clinton Taylor raised and instantly called the shove of Michael Egan from one seat over with both players holding near identical stacks.

Clinton Taylor: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Michael Egan: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The board came {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and the stacks were counted. Taylor had been all in for 910,000 and Egan had one ante more.

In the very next hand, Egan was forced all in for 5,000 and Taylor raised to isolate.

Michael Egan: {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Clinton Taylor: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

The {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop gave Egan an open-ender, but the chip and a chair miracle never came with the {5-Diamonds} turn and {10-Clubs} river both being blanks. Egan has been eliminated in 13th place and takes home AU$82,000.

Anthony Kingston

Anthony Kingston moved all in for 205,000 from the button and was looked up by Mike Del Vecchio.

Anthony Kingston: {7-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Mike Del Vecchio: {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The flop gave both players a pair coming {2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{9-Hearts} and the turn {7-Diamonds} improved Kingston to two pair as he looked to stay alive in the Main Event.

The river, however, was the {2-Spades}, counterfeiting the at-risk player and sending more chips Del Vecchio's way as Kingston was eliminated in 14th place for AU$82,000

Simon Chahine

It folded to Simon Chahine on the button who moved all in for 360,000. Hamish Crawshaw, who had just won a big pot off the Australian, was in the big blind and called putting Chahine at the risk.

Simon Chahine: {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}
Hamish Crawshaw: {a-Spades}{7-Clubs}

The clear home favourite was roared on as the flop came {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{a-Clubs} giving Chahine two pair. However, there were gasps as the {7-Diamonds} rolled off the turn giving Crawshaw back the lead.

The river was the {q-Diamonds} and Chahine was eliminated.
