Pepper Doesn't Pay Off Hoang

Niveau 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Gareth Pepper opened the action with a raise to 225,000 with the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and he was called by Ngoc Tai Hoang in the big blind, who held {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. The flop came {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and both players elected to check.

Hoang turned a straight with the {4-Spades} and bet 200,000, Pepper stuck around. After the {q-Diamonds} river, Hoang double-checked his cards and made it 690,000 to go into a pot of 1 million.

Pepper was sent into the think tank for more than two minutes and he eventually released his cards into the muck.

Wan and Pepper Chip Up

Niveau 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

After checking through a flop of {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{8-Spades}, Ngoc Tai Hoang bet the {k-Hearts} turn with the {k-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and was called by Vincent Wan with the {a-Spades}{3-Clubs}.

Hoang also bet the {10-Hearts} river for 300,000 and Hoang called to claim the pot much to the delight of his rail.

Gareth Pepper opened to 225,000 one hand later with the {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and picked up callers in Erik Seidel with {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} on the button and Nino Ullmann with {7-Hearts}{4-Clubs} in the big blind. On a flop of {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}, Ullmann was the only one to check-call a bet of 400,000 by Pepper and they headed to the {5-Diamonds} turn.

Ullmann checked once more and a bet of 800,000 did the trick for Pepper.

Oliver Weis Eliminated in 6th Place (A$307,820)

Niveau 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Oliver Weis
Oliver Weis

Gareth Pepper started the action with a raise to 220,000 in the hijack and Oliver Weis, who had 2,190,000 behind, gave it some consideration and moved all-in. Within two seconds, Pepper tossed in calling chips to create the following showdown.

Oliver Weis: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}
Gareth Pepper: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The German rail was shouting their support for Weis but he would find no help on a board of {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}. Weis becomes the second casualty on the final table and takes home A$307,820 for his efforts.

Weis and Ullmann Scoop Pots

Niveau 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Oliver Weis made it 220,000 to go with the {q-Hearts}{j-Spades} and Erik Seidel came along out of the big blind with the {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. On a flop of {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{8-Spades}, Weis hit trips and Seidel checked, Weis checked back.

The {5-Spades} followed on the turn and another check by Seidel resulted in a bet of Weis to shut down all further action.

Nino Ullmann raised to 225,000 with the {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and Ngoc Tai Hoang defended his big blind with {7-Spades}{6-Hearts} to hit middle pair on the {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop. Both players checked to the {q-Spades} turn and Hoang check-folded to a delayed continuation bet worth 375,000.
