Sweet Start for Spinella

Niveau 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Anthony Spinella
Anthony Spinella

Anthony Spinella just raked in a big pot, and Vlad Lache was kind enough to bring us up to speed with the action as Spinella's opponent was deep into the tank on the river.

Lache explained how Spinella raised to 450 and after one player called it was Bahram Chobineh who three-bet to 1,350 from the small blind. Both Spinella and the third player involved called, putting {J-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} on the flop.

Chobineh bet 2,000 on the flop and only Spinella called.

The turn was the {5-Spades} and Spinella called another 4,000. On the river the board completed with the {7-Spades} and Chobineh bet 6,500.

Spinella raised it up to 19,000 and Chobineh thought for a long time before calling, and revealing {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} for a flopped set. Spinella showed {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a flopped straight, and he took down this big pot.

Spinella now sits on around 60,000 chips, while Chobineh was left with 10,000.

Neuville Enters The Grand Final

Niveau 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Two-time EPT runner-up Pierre Neuville has just been spotted at Dan Smith's table, as he's once again on a quest to take down one of Europe's biggest events.

Neuville burst onto the scene with a runner-up finish at EPT Vilamoura in Season 6, when Antonio Matias took the event down, and two seasons later the Belgian finished second to Team PokerStars Online Mickey Petersen in Copenhagen.

On top of that, Neuville has a runner-up finish at the World Series of Poker in the $5,000 6-max, and a seventh place finish in last year's WSOP Main Event for $1.2 million.

In total Neuville has $3.4 million in live tournament earnings, putting him second on the Belgian all-time money list.

Next to the feature table where the €100,000 Super High Roller Final Table currently takes place, Dinesh Alt just bet a flop of {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} for 1,200 and EPT12 Dublin 4th place finisher Patrick Clarke shoved for his last 7,450 chips. Alt gave it some thought and then called to turn over {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}.

Clarke had the {9-Spades}{7-Spades} for a flopped flush and held up thanks to the {6-Clubs} turn and {Q-Clubs} river. Another familiar player is in seat nine, no other than the first and thus far only two-time EPT champion Vicky Coren!

Queen Jack for the Germans

Niveau 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

On the {J-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop, Dietrich Fast bet 600 from the hijack and the player on the button called to see the {6-Diamonds} turn. Fast checked, his opponent bet 850 and the German called. Fast did so again on the {A-Diamonds} river for 3,000 and was shown {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts} by his opponent, a bluff gone wrong. The German claimed the pot with {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts} but remains below starting stack.

Fabio Sperling has a slightly more difficult table with Haralabos Voulgaris, Isaac Haxton and Anthony Zinno. Sperling bet the {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} river for 2,000 and was called by Jerome Arnould, who then mucked when Sperling flashed {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}.

Shak Busts to Lambertz

Niveau 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Dan Shak
Dan Shak

Joining the action with a squeeze to 1,300 by Dan Shak, Felix Lambertz reraised to 4,525 and the American then made it 15,000 to go. "How much are you playing?" the German asked and Shak replied with "around 34,000" to then call off the shove of Lambertz:

Shak: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Lambertz: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}

The board ran out {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Shak left the tournament area rather quickly, grabbing his laptop, his iPad and a couple phones as well as the other random belongings.

Seat Open ... Or Not

Niveau 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Marti Aguilar squeezed to 1,800 and then called the shove of Ibrahim Al Bishri for little more, 4,025 in total to be exact. Aguilar turned over {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} and Al Bishri only the {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds} to see the board run out {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}.

The dealer was about to ship the pot to Aguilar with his set before then realizing that Al Bishri had made a straight on the river. Aguilar took a small hit to his stack, but has done nicely thus far.
