Quel choc ! Malgré deux occasions de conclure le PokerStars & Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final Saison 12, Adrien Allain s'incline finalement en head's up contre Jan Bendik. Les Français ratent une 10e victoire sur l'European Poker Tour alors que Bendik rapporte le premier titre à la Slovaquie pour sa 3e finale.

Adrien Allain rate l'occasion de remporter la Triple Crown, lui qui avait remporté l'Asian Poker Tour Macau 2009 et le World Poker Tour Amnéville 2011. Le Breton tentera de se consoler avec un gain de 577 800€. Le vainqueur encaisse lui 961 800€ puisqu'il n'y a pas eu de deal.

La finale reprend avec 30 minutes à jouer sur le niveau 50000-100000 (10000) et Jimmy Guerrero en profite pour reprendre la tête du classement. Quelques minutes après l'augmentation des blindes, et alors que l'action se concentre sur du jeu préflop, Oren Rosen finit par envoyer 13 blindes du CO avec {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. Dans les blindes, Jan Bendik se réveille avec {a-}{k-} et met fin au parcours de l'Israélien, 6e pour 170 950€.

Le Slovaque se replace et c'est Pierre Calamusa qui glisse peu à peu en fin de classement. Le Français va d'abord partager {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} contre {a-}{k-} chez Bendik mais, sur la main suivante, il trouve {k-}{k-} et se fait piéger au turn par le même adversaire qui a floppé trips. Comme dans un rêve, le Team Pro Winamax frappe un des deux derniers {k-} du paquet pour doubler !

Dans la foulée, le Kazakh Umarov trouve aussi un double-up avec les {a-}{a-} contre les {8-}{8-} chez Adrien Allain. Le Breton va ensuite poser un bluff de légende contre Jimmy Guerrero. Adrien en profite pour s'installer en tête du chipcount. Il ne le rendra plus.

20 mains plus tard, Pierre Calamusa envoie ses 20 blindes de sb avec {a-}{4-} mais Adrien Allain a le timing et lève cette fois {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} en grosse blinde. Pas de miracle pour le Grenoblois qui rend les armes en 5e position pour un gain de 233 800€.

Sur la 53e main de la finale, le tournoi perd son dernier qualifié sur un Spin & Go à 10$. Jan Bendik ouvre et Asan Umarov 3-bet shove avec {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Jimmy Guerrero trouve les {k-}{k-} pour une décision facile et sort le joueur Kazakh en 4e positon. Ce dernier repart avec 115 millions de sa monnaie locale soit 305 660€ !

A partir de là, Jan Bendik se refait la cerise au détriment du régulier du cercle Clichy. Le Français va tomber à 40 blindes et se faire dépasser par son adversaire quand celui va défendre {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts} et trouver deux paires au flop. Avec {a-}{a-} en main, Guerrero accorde un double-up mortel à Bendik.

Le Français ne parvient pas à inverser la tendance tandis qu'Adrien Allain appuie sur l'accélérateur. Guerrero va finir par se retrouver à tapis sur un 4-bet shove 25bb avec {2-}{2-} contre {a-}{j-} chez son compatriote. Un flop avec un {a-} et un {j-} vont précipiter sa chute. Jimmy encaisse 406 850€ pour sa 3e place alors que sa compagne Thi Xoa Nguyen a finit 14e !

Avec ce coup, Adrien Allain aborde le duel terminal avec 22 millions (136 blindes) contre 11 (68 blindes) à son adversaire soit un avantage de 2 contre 1 en jetons. Le Français refuse le deal et, dès l'entame du HU, le Slovaque va d'abord 3-bet shove presque 70 blindes pour montrer qu'il en veut. Bendik donne ensuite des jetons au tricolore avec une couleur inférieure et continue à envoyer des sacoches... avec un résultat mitigé.

Adrien Allain augmente en effet son avance malgré plusieurs boards connectés par celui qui a tout de même été joueur de l'année EPT pour la saison 9. Bendik tombe alors à 40 blindes ce qui représente encore un quart des jetons quand, sur la 40e main du head's up, le Slovaque va payer pour son tournoi avec {q-}{j-} !

Avec {8-}{8-} en main, Adrian Allain a limpé du bouton et envoyé son tapis sur une relance de Bendik. Sa paire va tenir jusqu'au tournant et une couleur à une carte pour Bendik ! A l'issue de ce coup, le Français garde la tête du tournoi mais avec simplement 17 millions (85bb) contre 15 (75bb) à son adversaire.

Une panne d'Internet va provoquer l'arrêt du jeu et le début de la pause dîner. Au retour, Adrien Allain continue à prendre les bonnes décisions et parvient à creuser de nouveau l'écart faisant tomber son adversaire en deçà des 10 millions de jetons. Sur la 120e main de la finale, le tricolore choisit pour limper à nouveau une main forte du bouton, {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}. Jan Bendik trouve {6-}{6-} et pousse de nouveau pour 42 bindes. C'est snap par le joueur Onpok qui voit son adversaire passer devant au chipcount à l'issue d'un board {5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{3-Spades} !

Tombé à 15 millions (75bb) contre 17 (95bb) chez son adversaire, Adrien Allain rate une deuxième balle de match mais ne perd pas le fil. Le Rennais remet le bleu de chauffe et remporte une multitude de petits pots pour repasser devant en moins de 25 mains. Les mains s'enchaînent avec un rythme soutenu et Adrien continue à mettre la pression, probablement motivé par la promesse de Guy Pariente.

Et patatras. Après deux jours magiques pour le poker tricolore, les mains s'enchaînent et Bendik reprend du poil de la bête avant de parvenir à reprendre la tête du classement. Les deux hommes sont presque à égalité quand arrive l'ultime donne, un setup meurtrier 60 blindes deep après presque 3 heures de duel.

Sur la 206e main du HU, Adrien Allain ouvre du bouton à 525 000 sur les blindes 250-500k avec {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} et environ 16 millions devant lui. Le Français colle le 3-bet à 1,6 million de Bendik.

Le Breton trouve un flop {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades} de rêve et paye la mise de continuation à 1,6 million de son adversaire. Le {10-Hearts} du tournant voit le Slovaque checker ce qui permet au tricolore de reprendre l'initiative à hauteur de 1,5 million.

Muni de {10-}{10-} en main Bendik a trouvé la gin card et check-raise à 4,2 millions. Le Français paye lui en pensant avoir trouvé un client. Le {3-Diamonds} rivière est une buche qui ne change rien. Bendik shove et c'est bien évidemment payé par Allain qui découvre l'étendue des dégâts et la transformation de son rêve en cauchemar ! L'occasion était belle mais c'est bien Bendik qui repart avec le trophée après avoir été dominé une large partie du head's up.

Adrien Allain, qui fêtera bientôt ses 30 ans, repensera longtemps aux deux flips perdus avec le titre en jeu. Il faudra effacer la déception avec un gros Vegas !
