Day 2 of the EPT €100,000 Super High Roller has bagged up after eight levels of an hour with nine players making it through to the final day. Eight new players were added to the field with one no-show from Day 1 to bring the total number of entries up to 64 which included 15 reentries. This created a total prize pool of €6,209,280 for nine players to get paid at the end of the road. The winner will walk away with the Super High Roller trophy and the first-place prize of €1,816,210 here at 2019 edition of EPT Barcelona.
At the end of the day, Tsugunari Toma claimed the chip lead with 3,755,000 in chips. Toma was celebrating his birthday today and will be looking back upon this day with some fond memories. Toma actually burst the bubble to end the day and to reach the final table when Daniel Dvoress four-bet jammed with ace-king. Toma held pocket queens and those held throughout the runout of the board. Dvoress also bubbled the last Super High Roller in Monte Carlo in a hand which featured two eliminations, he was one 5,000-chip shorter than Seth Davies when Alex Foxen took them out.
Steve O’Dwyer collected 2,680,000 in chips to put in his bag by the end of Level 16. Kahle Burns also finished on the Day 2 podium when he bagged 2,340,000. Completing the final table are Sergi Reixach, Luc Greenwood, Danny Tang, Sam Grafton, Mikalai Vaskaboinikau, and Rui Ferreira.

Adrian Mateos, Foxen, Ben Heath, Cary Katz, Charlie Carrel, Filipe Oliveira, Kristen Bicknell, and Oleksii Khoroshenin were the eight players who entered at the start of the day. Heath was the one to last the longest of them all when he was eliminated in the penultimate level of the day. Heath called with pocket kings for his tournament life after Mikalai Vaskaboinikau had shoved when Sam Greenwood had raised. The ace on the turn meant the end of Heath’s run.
The only German to join the field, Christoph Vogelsang busted when he shoved his king-queen into the ace-jack of Heath and got no help of the board. Day 1 chip leader Ahadpur Khangah finished in second place last year but won’t be repeating that feat this year as he fell at the hands of Luc Greenwood who had flopped a set in a pot that went four-way to the flop initially. Teun Mulder, Sergio Aido, Michael Addamo, and Gakuto “Gackt” Oshiro followed him in the chip counts at the start of the day but all failed to make it through to the halfway point of the tournament.
Linus Loeliger who might not be a familiar name to some as he only recently started playing the live High Roller circuit with three cashes this year totaling almost $1.8 million but his online nickname “LLinusLLove” might be. The Swiss player normally focuses on the high stakes online NLHE cash games but made his first live appearance at PokerStars during the €50,000 Super High Roller here in Barcelona in 2017. Unfortunately, he lost his stacks in two hands, first doubling Dvoress up and then losing the rest to Toma.
When the players return the tables in Casino Barcelona, they will start with Level 17 which features a small blind of 20,000, big blind of 40,000, and big blind ante of 40,000. Six time bank cards will be added to their collection of cards. A 20-minute break will take place after every two levels and play will continue until a winner has been crowned. All returning players are guaranteed at least €180,070.
The PokerNews live reporting team will be on hand to bring you all the Super High Roller action as it happens until it finishes from 12:30 p.m. local time on Monday, August 26.
