Day 1a of the €330 EPT Cup at the 2019 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino European Poker Tour will start at 8 p.m. local time. The tournament features a small buy-in but a big prize pool as the tournament always attracts tons of players.

The last EPT Cup was held in Prague at the 2018 European Poker Tour Prague and that tournament was won by Russia's Sergei Bagirov. He took home the impressive first place prize of €73,050.

Players will start the day with 20,000 in chips. The levels will last 20 minutes and the tournament will stop when there is 5% of the field remaining while 15% of the field will be in the money. Another starting flight will take place on Monday, April 29. All remaining players will combine for Day 2 on Tuesday, April 30 at 1 p.m.

Registration will be open until the end of level eight which will be 400/800 with an 800 big blind ante. Players will be able to register with 25 big blinds if they decide to register at the end of late registration. There will be a 20-minute break after every six levels. Players that bust out do have the opportunity to reenter into a following flight.

Shuffle Up and Deal

Niveau 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

The tournament started with a couple of minutes of delay as they were still preparing some tables. Cards are now officially in the air for the EPT Cup and the first task is to reach the money. We will then play down to 5% of the field and they will make Day 2.

Beck Shoves on Duncan

Niveau 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

The board read {k-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and the pot had about 12,000 in it. Brian Beck moved all in from the big blind after Jonathan Duncan had checked to him from the small blind.

The bet of 13,700 was too big for Duncan who got out of the way and the pot was awarded to Beck.

A Couple of Eliminations

Niveau 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

A handful of eliminations already took place in the EPT Cup. The players start with 200 big blinds but the blinds increase every 20 minutes.

In the meantime, the amount of entries has passed the 200 mark.

Portier Takes a Chunk From Drai

Niveau 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

The complete board was {q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{k-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and the pot had about 9,000 in it when Megane Portier bet 4,000 from the big blind. David Drai sat on the button and it didn't took him long to call it off.

Portier showed {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for the winning hand and Drai flashed {a-}{k-}. Drai is already down to half a starting stack but he still has 100 big blinds in this level.
