Kitajama Out; Romeo Chipping Up

Niveau 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Hayato Kitajima got his last 48,000 into the middle and Leonardo Romeo called from the button. Robert Heidorn came along from the big blind and action was three-handed.

The flop was {7-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and both remaining players checked to see {9-Clubs} on the turn.

Heidorn checked the turn and Romeo bet 50,000. Heidorn called to start a sidepot and the river was {8-Diamonds}.

Heidorn checked again and then folded when Romeo bet 100,000.

Romeo turned over {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for a set of nines to take both pots. Kitajima's losing hand was flashed and then thrown in the muck.

De Souza Eliminated by Glowny

Niveau 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Belarmino De Souza
Belarmino De Souza

Brazilian online grinder Belarmino De Souza returned from the break with fewer than 20 big blinds and was in the big blind right away. Grzegorz Glowny opened from an early position and then called the shove by De Souza for around 180,000 total.

Belarmino De Souza: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Grzegorz Glowny: {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

After the {j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop, De Souza was rooting for a deuce or trey and got exactly that with the {2-Spades} turn. He repeated the same wish but instead, it was the {9-Hearts} that fell on the river. De Souza let out a brief "oh no" and then headed to the payout desk.

Burlacu Sends Kraus to the Rail

Niveau 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

With a growing pot and {7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} on the board, Anton Kraus got his last few chips in and Robert Burlacu called.

Kraus turned over {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a pair of kings, and Burlacu had {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for the nut flush draw.

The river came {q-Diamonds} and the flush hit for Burlacu to knock Kraus out of the tournament.

Alexandridis Doubles Through Heidorn

Niveau 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Robert Heidorn raised and then called a three-bet to 60,000 by Symeon Alexandridis in the small blind. On the {j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, Alexandridis continued for 42,000 to earn a call and then bet the {5-Clubs} turn for another 100,000. Heidorn stuck around once more and Alexandris fired the third and final barrel on the {7-Diamonds} river.

The shove was for 149,000 and Heidorn eventually called with the {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} only to get shown {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} by Alexandridis.

Soenmez Runs Out of Chips

Niveau 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Erkan Soenmez
Erkan Soenmez

Germany's Erkan Soenmez returned as one of the shortest stacks and scored an early double. However, he was never able to build up the stack further and was chipped down to a mere 32,000 when he got it in preflop. He was looked up by Ali Cataldegirmen and they turned over the cards.

Erkan Soenmez: {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Ali Cataldegirmen: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Both players picked up straight draws until the {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{q-Hearts} turn but the {7-Clubs} river brought no help to Soenmez. The table broke right after as the field was whittled down to the final 80 hopefuls.
