Perfect Turn Card Brings Bogusz a Big Pot

Niveau 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Karol Bogusz
Karol Bogusz

On a flop of {4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, Karol Bogusz led out for 40,000 from the big blind and got a call from Tobias Tropschuh in late position.

On the turn {5-Hearts}, Bogusz fired out another 125,000 and Tropschuh moved all-in for approximately 500,000. Bogusz called, and as the cards were turned over, the super-cooler was revealed.

Tobias Tropschuh: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Karol Bogusz: {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

The magical turn card brought Bogusz a straight to take the lead over Tropschuh's flopped set of nines.

The river {k-Spades} couldn't save Tropschuh, and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Meijer Van Putten Left Short, Then Eliminated

Niveau 23 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Jasper Meijer Van Putten
Jasper Meijer Van Putten

A pot of approximately 700,000 had been built by Jasper Meijer Van Putten in the small blind and Diego Montone in the big blind when PokerNews arrived at their table.

The board read {4-Clubs}{7-Spades}{q-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, and Meijer Van Putten had checked to Montone. The Italian bet 300,000, which represented almost 75% of Meijer Van Putten's remaining stack.

The 2016 EPT Prague champ called and got bad news.

Montone showed {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}, and Meijer Van Putten frustratedly tossed his cards into the muck, leaving himself just under six big blinds, which would vanish soon after to eliminate him from the tournament.

Virgil Grecu opened the action to 40,000 from under the gun and Merijn van Rooij three-bet to 130,000. It folded back to Grecu who four-bet to 350,000 and was called.

Grecu check-raised to 400,000 on the {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop. He then called off his stack after his opponent moved all-in as the bigger stack. It was a pot worth 4,100,000 and was the largest seen so far.

Virgil Grecu: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Merijn van Rooij: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

The {q-Clubs} turn gave Grecu an open-ended straight draw, but the {k-Clubs} river meant his opponent would end up with Broadway to scoop the pot and secure the bust out.

Nikita Luther opened the action with a raise to 40,000 from the cutoff. Diomedes Rimon three-bet her to 125,000 on the button.

Luther went into the tank, then opted to move in for about 400,000 total. Rimon quickly called, having Luther covered.

Nikita Luther: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Diomedes Rimon: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Luther was dominated and needed help that didn't come as the dealer spread a board of {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{j-Spades}, giving Rimon Broadway and sending the last woman in the field to the rail.

Alejandro Lococo and Akseli Paalanen have two of the biggest stacks in the room at Table 7, and just before break they went to battle.

Lococo opened to 31,000 and was three-bet by Paalanen to 110,000. Lococo came back with a four-bet to 385,000.

That still wasn't enough for Paalanen, who put in a five-bet jam for about 1.2 million.

"Papo MC" quickly tossed his cards into the muck, ceding the pot to his Finnish opponent.

Kenny Hallaert had more than doubled the stack he began the day with but took a small hit recently when he called the 84,000 chip all-in bet of Antonio Crosetta.

Antonio Crosetta: {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Kenny Hallaert: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Hallaert was in great shape to score the elimination, but a flop of {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} paired Crosetta's king to give him the lead, and the {9-Clubs} and {9-Diamonds} brought no help to Hallaert.
