Rous Rockets Up Chip Leaderboard with Aces

Niveau 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Marek Rous
Marek Rous

Marek Rous opened to 1,500 from early position before Ghassan Bitar three-bet to 4,500 on his immediate left. Christophe Larquemin called from the next seat over which prompted Rous to jam for 22,000. Bitar then re-shoved for 40,000 and Larquemin called off his 35,000 stack as well.

Marek Rous: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Christophe Larquemin: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Ghassan Bitar: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Rous was on course for a huge triple up following the preflop cooler. The {8-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts} runout kept his pocket aces ahead and he scooped in the main pot while Larquemin took the side pot to leave Bitar with crumbs.

Larquemin Dominates Papazian

Niveau 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Christophe Larquemin
Christophe Larquemin

Christophe Larquemin was out of position in a heads-up pot against Alexandru Papazian on a board of {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades}{a-Hearts}.

With around 23,000 already in the middle, Larquemin moved all in to put Papazian to the test for his remaining 12,000 or so.

"I have an ace but I'm not sure about it," Papazian said before eventually calling.

Alexandru Papazian: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Christophe Larquemin: {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Papazian was correct to be wary of his hand and he was eliminated as the {k-Hearts} peeled off on the river to keep Larquemin ahead with his two pair.

Markus Schottes opened to 1,500 from under the gun and Jack Sinclair flat-called from the cutoff, while Kuljinder Sidhu also came along from the big blind.

The flop landed {9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and Sidhu and Schottes both checked. Sinclair bet 1,500 and only Sidhu called. Sidhu checked again on the {j-Spades} turn and Sinclair checked back.

The {4-Hearts} river completed the board and Schottes led out for 5,500. Sinclair gave a shrug and called. Schottes showed {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for trips and Sinclair quickly mucked.

With around 14,000 in the middle on the {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop, Peter Jorgne check-called from under the gun after Roland Rokita bet 4,000 from the button.

The {9-Clubs} turn checked through to the {5-Clubs} river, which prompted Jorgne to lead out for 11,000. Rokita toyed with his cards and chips before making the call.

"Ace-high," announced Jorgne as he tabled his {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Rokita then turned over his {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} to take the pot with a superior ace.

Majid Nadeem

Majid Nadeem opened to 2,000 from the button before Renato Ribeiro put in the three-bet from the small blind. Gyu Hyuk Lee then made it 16,500 from the big blind which prompted Nadeem to jam for around 50,000.

"I'd call if it was Day 2," said Ribeiro before he folded. Lee, who had slightly less than Nadeem, called for his tournament life.

Gyu Hyuk Lee: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Majid Nadeem: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

An Orbit with EPT London Champ Ian Hamilton

Niveau 9 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Ian Hamilton
Ian Hamilton

Britain's Ian Hamilton is fresh off of taking down the EPT London £5,300 Main Event for a career-best £664,400, so PokerNews spent an orbit with the newly minted EPT champ.

Hand #1 (UTG): Hamilton was first to act and folded.

Hand #2 (Big Blind): Mats Ullereng completed in the small blind and Hamilton raised. Ullereng called. Ullereng checked on the flop of {7-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Hamilton bet 2,500. Ullereng called. Ullereng checked again on the {q-Hearts} turn and Hamilton sized up to 7,000, which got a quick fold from his opponent.

Hand #3 (Small Blind): Action folded to Hamilton in the small blind and he open-jammed into Manuel Fernandez in the big blind who had just a few chips behind. Fernandez folded.

Hand #4 (Button): Action folded to Hamilton and he followed suit.

Hand #5 (Cutoff): Hamilton opened to 2,100 and Manuel Fernandez three-bet jammed a stack of 9,000 from the button. Hamilton called.

Manuel Fernandez: {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Ian Hamilton: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Hamilton stayed ahead as the board ran out {7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{8-Spades} to improve him to a straight and eliminate the short-stacked opponent.

Hand #6 (Hijack): Simone Andrian opened to 2,100 from under the gun and Hamilton folded.

Hand #7 (Early Position): Hamilton folded.

Hand #8 (Early Position): Hamilton opened to 2,100 and Ghassan Bitar three-bet to 6,200 from the next seat. Hamilton called. Hamilton checked on the flop of {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Bitar bet 6,600. Hamilton check-raised to around 30,000 and Bitar called off with less.

Ghassan Bitar: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Ian Hamilton: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Hamilton was behind until the turn brought the {10-Spades} to improve him to trips and nothing changed on the {8-Hearts} river to mark Bitar's elimination.

"Come on. Unbelievable," Bitar muttered after getting his kings cracked.
