Gonzalez Wins Cooler to Move Stack Over a Million

Niveau 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Jose Gonzalez
Jose Gonzalez

Jose Gonzalez opened the cutoff to 12,000 before Benjamin Tessier defended his big blind and they were off to a flop heads up.

The A310 flop hit the felt and action checked to Gonzalez who continued for 8,000. Without thinking for too long Tessier put in a flop check-raise to 23,000. Gonzalez called.

The 2 landed on the turn introducing a backdoor flush draw and Tessier opted to continue the story for 54,000. Gonzalez came with a call once again.

The 5 landed on the river completing the backdoor flush and Tessier didn't skip a beat and led again for a large bet of 150,000. Gonzalez went into the tank and after a full time bank he announced he was all in. Although Tessier didn't look excited about it, he flicked in a call for his tournament life. The cards were tabled and the cooler was real.

Gonzalez rolled over AQ for the rivered backdoor nut flush and Tessier tabled 46 for the rivered nut straight with the flush blocker.

Tessier hit the rail and Gonzalez dragged a massive pot to move over the one million chip mark for the first time today.

Schumacher Fires Away at Dimitrov

Niveau 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Yannick Schumacher three-bet to 40,000 in the small blind and Stefan Dimitrov called from early position.

The flop came 4210 and Schumacher led out for 27,000. Dimitrov called to see the 2 turn, where Schumacher fired out another 68,000.

Dimitrov called again and the Q fell on the river. Schumacher then used up his entire 30-second clock before checking, and Dimitrov quickly checked back.

Schumacher turned over A10 for a pair of tens and Dimitrov mucked.

Always Coming Seven For Jasinevicius

Niveau 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Ignas Jasinevicius was down to just 56,000 and moved all in from middle position as Alessandro Minasi called in the big blind.

Ignas Jasinevicius: A7
Alessandro Minasi: AJ

Jasinevicius was dominated as the flop came 65K. The turn, though, brought the 7 and Minasi looked away from the table in disgust.

The river was the 2 and Jasinevicius stayed alive.

"You are a lucky man," tablemate Suat Uyanik told him.

"I don't know how to play. I just know how to push," Jasinevicius replied.

Suat Uyanik: AK
Andreas Tomazou: AQ

Shaw Bombs the River in Four-Way Pot

Niveau 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Carl Shaw
Carl Shaw

Carl Shaw raised to 12,000 in the cutoff and received three callers, including Thomas Santerne on the button, Nemanja Lukovic in the small blind, and big blind Gerard Carbo.

The flop came QJ8 and Lukovic led out for 12,000. All three opponents called to see the Q turn.

Action then checked to Santerne who bet 20,000. That was enough to chase away Lukovic and Carbo, but Shaw stuck around and called to the 6 river.

Shaw then fired out 128,000 and Santerne adjusted the big pair of headphones he was wearing as he went deep into the tank. He burned through two time bank cards and thought about the decision for more than a minute before tossing his cards into the muck.

Fkih Dodges a Flush to Double

Niveau 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Heads-up on a flop of 469, Ali Fkih bet 13,000 from early position before Mustafa Biz raised to 42,000 in the big blind. Fkih then moved all in for 97,000 and Biz quickly called.

Ali Fkih: KK
Mustafa Biz: A5

Fkih had picked up kings but needed to dodge Biz's nut flush draw to stay alive. The 9 turn was safe, and so was the 6 river as Fkih doubled up.

Joao Vieira and 2010 EPT Monte Carlo champion Nicolas Chouity are also at this table.

Aygun Raises Preflop and Then Gets Led Into on Three Streets

Niveau 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Aksel Aygun
Aksel Aygun

Aksel Aygun opened from early position to 10,000 before getting called on the button by Enrico Camosci and in the big blind by Marius Irimia.

The 810K flop hit the felt, and without much time in the tank, Irimia led out for 8,000 from the big blind. Both of his opponents called.

The 8 turn landed and the Irimia led out again for 30,000. This time, he only got called by the original raiser, Aygun.

The 7 hit the river and Irimia led one last time for 40,000. Aygun went into the tank and started talking it out to his opponent. After less than a minute he put in the chips and got the good news.

Irimia tabled KQ to show he was betting for value with a hand that was pipped by the AK of Aygun.

Aygun scooped to take back some chips after being in a tough river spot in this hand.
