Naydenov's Mini Heater Results In Royal Flush

Niveau 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Simeon Naydenov
Simeon Naydenov

Simeon Naydenov has just been on a two-hand heater that resulted in him first getting paid off for his full house, then hitting a royal flush.

In the first hand, Nozomu Shimizu raised to 2,500 from the button, Dawid Smolka called in the small blind and Simeon Naydenov called in the big blind. The flop came {2-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{k-Spades}. Smolka checked, Naydenov checked and Shimizu bet 12,000. Naydenov put in a small check-raise to 24,000 and Shimizu called.

The turn was the {7-Clubs} and both players checked. The river came the {7-Hearts} and Naydenov shoved for his remaining chips, which was around 18,000.

"Maybe queen high is good?" said Shimizu. He then used a couple of time bank cards before eventually making the call. Naydenov showed {k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for the full house, kings full of eights. Shimizu showed {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. He had assumed Naydenov was running a bluff on the double paired board and, true to his word, called with queen high. Naydenov scooped a nice pot.

The very next hand, [Removed:452] went all in from middle position with around 11,000, a shove for less than 10 big blinds. Naydenov called the shove and players turned their cards.

[Removed:452]: {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Simeon Naydenov: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {j-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. Naydenov hit the absolute nuts, a royal flush on the flop. Kaladjurdjevic had no chance of coming back and was eliminated from the tournament.

Naydenov joked about whether or not he was entitled to a casino bonus for his royal flush (he wasn't). In any case, in just two hands, Naydenov went from a short stack to well above average.

Shylko Out After Running Into Flush

Niveau 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Aliaksandr Shylko
Aliaksandr Shylko

Aliaksandr Shylko raised to 4,200 from the small blind and Thomas Santerne defended out of the big blind.

Shylko continued for 2,200 on the {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop and Santerne called. Shylko then bet 17,000 on the {q-Hearts} turn with less than that in the pot and Santerne called.

The {6-Hearts} completed the board and Shylko used a time bank before betting 35,000 and leaving himself just 1,600 behind. Santerne snap-called. Shylko showed {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for a set, but it was no good against the rivered flush of Santerne with {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} to leave Shylko with crumbs.

A few hands later, Shylko jammed for just more than one big blind and Juha Helppi and Pieter Aerts both called out of the blinds.

Helppi and Aerts both checked on the {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{k-Diamonds} flop as well as the {6-Hearts} turn. Helppi checked again on the {5-Spades} river and folded when Aerts bet 2,500. Shylko tabled {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for an underpair and couldn't survive as Aerts showed {q-Spades}{j-Clubs} for a pair of jacks to send the 2023 PokerStars Players Championship winner to the rail.

Ferreira Pais Six-Bets and Doubles

Niveau 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Mauricio Ferreira Pais
Mauricio Ferreira Pais

Conor Beresford raised to 2,000 from under the gun, before Jimmy Saft made it 6,200 from middle position. Mauricio Ferreira Pais was on the button and came in with a cold four-bet to 15,000.

Beresford got more than he bargained for and quickly mucked his hand before Saft put in the five-bet to 40,000. Ferreira Pais used two time bank extensions before announcing his all-in, worth 94,300. No count was needed, however, as Saft snap-called.

Mauricio Ferreira Pais: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Jimmy Saft: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Saft let out an expletive, condemning the classic cooler. It would not help him as the board ran out {7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}, forcing him to give away many of his hard-earned chips to Ferreira Pais.

O'Dwyer Flops Nuts in Five-Bet Pot

Niveau 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Tauan De Oliveira Naves opened the action with a raise to 2,300 from the cutoff. Imad Derwiche responded with a three-bet to 5,400 from the button, after which big blind Steve O'Dwyer put in the four-bet to 14,000. De Oliveira Naves quickly folded to so many raises, and Derwiche engaged in some speech play.

''You want to win your money back?'' asked Derwiche to an ever-silent O'Dwyer. After waiting for an answer that never came, Derwiche put in the five-bet to 35,000, which O'Dwyer quickly called.

The flop fell {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Derwiche protected his eyes so he could not see it until it was his turn. When O'Dwyer checked, Derwiche rapidly moved all in for roughly 65,000 chips. O'Dwyer snap-called, covering his opponent, declaring: ''I have the nuts.''

Imad Derwiche: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Steve O'Dwyer: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

O'Dwyer was not lying, as he indeed flopped the nut flush. The turn {2-Clubs} spelled the end for Derwiche and as the {q-Clubs} river fell, he left the tournament area frustratedly but had enough sportsmanship to give his opponent a fist bump beforehand.

Stephen Chidwick opened on the button and Bruno Volkmann and Apoorva Goel both called out of the blinds.

Action checked to Chidwick on the flop of {4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and he continued for 2,100. Volkmann check-raised to 7,500 and Goel folded. Chidwick stared his opponent down for a bit and called.

The turn brought the {j-Spades} and Volkmann bet 23,000. Chidwick gave his opponent another stare and then folded.

PokerStars ambassador Parker Talbot was seen doubling his stack with a flush in a heads-up pot against Natan Chauskin to his left.

Talbot held {j-Clubs}{2-Clubs} on the board of {3-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{8-Spades} to beat the top pair of Chauskin with {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and had a stack of around 70,000 at the end of it all.

Grafton Gets Three Streets of Value With Queens

Niveau 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Diogo Machado made a hijack raise to 1,600 and Omar Lakhdari called in the small blind. Sam Grafton took a quick glance across at his opponent before reraising to 7,000. Machado and Lakhdari both called.

The flop came {6-Spades}{j-Spades}{9-Hearts}. Lakhdari checked and Grafton made a continuation bet of 5,500. Machado called and Lakhdari folded, meaning two players would see the turn.

The turn was the {9-Spades} and Grafton bet out for 8,000, which Machado called. The final card came the {6-Diamonds} and Grafton led again, this time putting in a large bet of 13,600, which represented most of his opponent's stack. Machado did make the call, leaving himself just a few thousand behind.

Grafton flipped over {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} for an overpair to the board. Machado mucked his hand and the chips were pushed over to Grafton, who has made good progress since entering the event and is now sitting on over 80,000 chips.

Obara Rivers Tomovic and Is Among Chipleaders

Niveau 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Jun Obara
Jun Obara

Jun Obara raised from middle position to 1,500 and Axel Hallay called from the hijack. Aleksandar Tomovic then made it 6,500 to go from the big blind. Obara and Hallay both put in the calling chips, and it was three players to the flop.

That flop fell {a-Spades}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Tomovic led out for 6,500 chips. Obara called and Hallay got out of the way. The {9-Diamonds} turn saw another bet by Tomovic, this time for 7,000. Again, Obara called rather quickly.

The river was the {q-Spades} and this time Tomovic slowed down and checked. Obara did not have to think long before in he put a stack of T-5000 chips, effectively putting Tomovic all in for around 18,500.

Tomovic reached the end of his shot clock and tossed in a time bank extension. He did not need much of it, however, as he put in the call not five seconds later.

Obara showed that he had rivered two pair with {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}. Tomovic frustratingly showed his {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} that was good until the river. He tossed the cards face-up in the middle and took his leave.

Meanwhile, Obara is now playing well over three starting stacks, counting him among the chipleaders of the tournament.

Livschitz Triples in Three-Way All-In

Niveau 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Victoria Livschitz
Victoria Livschitz

The last hand before the break, in the previous level, saw four players heading to a three-way all-in situation.

The action started when Hakim Zoufri raised to 1,100 from middle position. It folded to Ivan Deyra on the button, who flat called. Small blind Jamil Wakil and big blind Victoria Livschitz followed suit, and the quartet saw a flop.

A straight flush board of {2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs} was what the deck presented the players with. The first three players to act checked to Deyra, who put out a bet of 1,500. All players still liked their hand enough to see a turn with, and they all called.

The {8-Diamonds} turn is where the hand really took off. After everyone checked to Deyra once more, he raised his bet sizing to 5,500. Wakil quickly got out of the way, but Livschitz looked at her last 13,800 chips, sighed, and put them in the middle. Zoufri then used a time extension before putting in six T-5,000 chips. The 30,000 raise was enough to cover Deyra's 22,700 stack.

Deyra responded by throwing all his time bank cards towards the dealer, indicating that he was going to be in the tank for a while. When he emerged, he had two of them left, and had decided to make the call.

Victoria Livschitz: {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Ivan Deyra: {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Hakim Zoufri: {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}

Livschitz had the nuts, leaving Deyra drawing dead for the main pot. Zoufri had a set and thus needed the board to pair to scoop the entire pot.

The river was the {j-Clubs} and Livschitz tripled, while Deyra's straight won him the side pot. Livschitz could not believed what had happened, as all three players left to quickly took what remained of their break.

Spasov's Set Gets Gahl Gone

Niveau 3 : 200/400, 400 ante
Simeon Spasov
Simeon Spasov

The red all-in triangle was in front of Simeon Spasov in the hijack. He had bet enough to put Sebastian Gahl in the small blind all in on a completed board of {4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}.

Gahl had 17,300 chips behind in a pot just a little over that amount. After a little time spent in the tank, Gahl made the call for his tournament life.

Sebastian Gahl: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Simeon Spasov: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Spasov's set bested Gahl's top pair and he left the tournament room. In the meantime, Spasov is sitting on a stack worth over two starting stacks.
