De Sousa Custodio Shoves to Stay Alive

Niveau 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

A pot was brewing between Daniel De Sousa Custodio on the button and Nazar Buhaiov on the hijack. On a board with {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{j-Hearts} showing, Buhaiov checked to De Sousa Custodio. He had slightly less than the pot behind, and went for it all by shoving 10,800 chips into the middle.

Buhaiov folded and De Sousa Custodio doubled his remaining chips, while Buhaiov is still sitting on a healthy above-average stack.

Confusion and Misheard Bets as Brewer Folds Turn

Niveau 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Gilbert Diaz raised to 1,300, Christopher Brewer three-bet to 6,000, then Diaz four-bet to 27,000. Brewer called.

Postflop, action got confusing. The dealer misheard a bet and asked Brewer to put in an extra 5,000 chips. Brewer knew where he was at and other players at the table confirmed that Diaz' bet was for 12,300, not the 17,000 requested by the dealer.

"That's not what happened!", said Brewer as the floor staff were called. "He put in 12,300". This was true but, after arguing about the 5k chip, Brewer felt he could not continue the action, the strength of his hand revealed and his bluff option no longer on the table. He folded to Diaz' turn bet.

Lin Straddles, Can't Bluff Shimizu

Niveau 3 : 200/400, 400 ante
Ren Lin
Ren Lin

Ren Lin pulled out a cash game move by straddling to 1,000 from under the gun before the cards were dealt and Carlos Zanoni called from the hijack before Nozomu Shimizu three-bet to 6,600 from the button.

Shimizu yelled something in Japanese and Lin and table mate Sung Hyun both burst out laughing before Lin and Zanoni both called.

All three players checked on the {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop and the same action took place on the {k-Diamonds} turn. Lin and Zanoni both checked on the {10-Hearts} river and Shimizu bet a tiny 1,000 before Lin check-raised to 15,000. Zanoni folded and Shimizu called.

Lin let out a laugh to show he was beat before turning over {a-Spades}{5-Spades} for ace-high, while Shimizu showed {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts} to win the pot with a pair of kings.

"YAY!" he celebrated.

"You straddle this time!" Lin ordered.

"I'm tired," replied Shimizu.

The board ran out {4-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. Kim was ahead for most of the runout, but Adams caught a pair of jacks on the river to bust Kim out of the tournament.

Aces Hold in Three-Way Three-Bet Pot

Niveau 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

The action started from under the gun when Mihails Morozovs raised to 1,000. It then folded to Nenad Dukic in the cutoff who made it 2,800 to go. Julien Sitbon was in the big blind and decided to cold call while nearing the end of his allotted thinking time. Morozovs was in as well, and the three went off to a flop.

None of the players took an aggressive action on the {9-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, as it checked around. The {6-Hearts} turn saw the first postflop betting happening with Sitbon leading for 3,000. His two opponents both wanted to see a river and called.

On the {4-Clubs} river Sitbon upped the amount to 12,000. This was too much for Morozovs, who quickly got out of the way. Dukic was more stubborn and looked Sitbon up after some time in the tank.

Sitbon showed {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, but his pocket pair was bested by the {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} of Dukic.
